well finally Gamecube Pso has been released in Australia http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

the only problem is that they reckon you cant play it online. is this just because theres not modem going to be released in aus, or is it just because the internet providers dont work with the gamecube?

if anyone can help please responde, im really getting freaked that its not going to work http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Sorry i mispelt the title as well, but now its fixed.

I would imagine it's because of the lack of a modem. You can get around that by importing one.

There should be an ISP that will work for you...do you guys have MSN in Australia?

yeh we have msn.

and does the modem work on every version of the gamecube?

or are there regional codes?

not pal and ntsc, i mean like region 1 and stuff like that.

The modem/BBA is universal and will work on a system from any region. I myself use an imported Japanese modem on my domestic US Gamecube.

I'm from Australia and I've been using an English (PAL) version of PSO with a BBA ordered from lik-sang.com which works very well. What you do need to remember is to hit B when starting up so that it asks you if you want to play in 60Hz mode, because otherwise you can't seem to get on to any servers except for one EU server, which is a PITA. It was also a PITA to find out this info, but my American friend and I worked it out.
So yeah! Can be done; is fun to do, and you can be the envy of your friends too http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
Oh yeah, I forgot to add, you can use it with any ISP - it's just going over the internet. I've used it on Telstra cable and iiNet ADSL with no problems.

what about the 56k modem though?

56K should be even easier...plug and play.

Broadband is tricky for old guys like me.

I'd highly reccomend using MSN as long as you can still do the 2 months for free (tell them you'd switch to them if they give you the first two months for free or some other clever lie).

so it would work with msn, but not with all other dial up connections right?
