What does it actually do?

A PB amplifier or photon blast amplifier makes your photon energy bar increase as you walk. I don't use it, waaay toooo slooow. Waste of a slot in my humble opinion.

As you walk around long distances, your PB meter fills up. Similar to TP,HP/Restorate.

it simply charges your mag's photon blast meter(at a snail's pace) as you walk, I would call it a waste of lousy meseta myself.

There's also an item called the PB/Generator.
