Fo/Bo, Jet Boot Gear + Elemental Conversion

I'm looking for clarification on something. Jet Boot Gear changes your "weapon element" to match your last spell, while Elemental Conversion also boosts spells based on your "Weapon Element." Are these two things the same, or does Elemental Conversion only work with the element actually ingrained on your weapon.

For example, if I cast Foie on a pair of Wind Jet Boots, will subsequent Foie spells gain the full benefit of a matching element, or will they only get the partial bonus?

Changing elements through JB Gear will not have an impact on Elemental Conversion.
So, you'll only get the half bonus of the wind element.

Does the default element still apply to attacks? I'm really kinda confused about this whole thing.

Jet Boots can change the element of their melee attacks, but that's it. Everything else is tied to the original element.
