View Full Version : What do you hope to see in PSO2 this year?

What are you hoping to see this year? (I know some people it's still 2014 for them) However.. It's new years for a lot of people. So! What do you want to see this year? PVP maybe? How bout a weapon type? Maybe some collab that could happen? Whatever you want to see, let's hear!

I'd like to see a Dual Gunslash, weapon type. Would be pretty amazing.

NA release, obviously.

So you want to re-level all your classes starting from zero, re-farm all AQs/EQs/titles, re-do all your crafting levels of weapons/units/techs, re-get all your accessories/hair/voice/lobby actions, re-find all your lvl 16 discs, and deal with skyhigh prices for EVERYTHING? That would be hundreds/thousands? of hours gone to waste.

Oh and dont forget all the grinding and affixing on ALL of your weapons for ALL classes.

Oh and lack of updated content.

Oh and you lost all your friends.

Have fun.

If the light/whatever tech isn't some kind of giant laser like Sphere Eraser on steroids, I'll be disappointed.

I want to be able to merge with my mag like a digimon. I want mags to talk like siri. I want mags to evolve like in digimon in combat like the photon blast but for longer periods of time. I also want more pso 1 themed levels. I want the sea bed from pso 1 i also want the gargriffon that was a fun boss.

- Can assign Weapon Camo for each weapon type, not just equip one. I don't mind bringing more than 1 weapon camo in inventory.
- Can use any weapon as Weapon Camo (with same type, of course).
- More Tmg PA ..... or maybe new weapon type, Dual Handgun .....
- Resonance of Fate / End of Eternity Collab for PSO2.
- Much more *13 drop rate, not much time farming due to irl things.

- New drop system maybe ...... something like need to kill x amount of times to get guaranteed drops of chosen item (with chosen elemental, or maybe just make it boxed) from specific mobs (as long as it's not awfully time consuming for people with little play time) to avoid non-rewarding endless grind (took me around 6 months+ grind with boosters, stopped, bought 1 ..... and then I finally get 1 Yash9000 (non-light) dropped in Wind and Rain EQ months later on last scheduled EQ (before TD introduced, I think).
- Update of crafting system, so it adds more options to weapons too (like current unit crafting). And of course, crafting in general ..... Well, hoping so crafting can be used to create a personal preference weapons / units (something like on PS Nova, maybe? I never played one, but it seems weapons modification looks nice. I'll try the demo later though.)

Taking it too far with the "lost all your friends" part. I mean, seriously, I'd be quite impressed if all your friends played pso2.

It's a shame that you can't enjoy that sort of restart unlike us/me.

I want another race and the 3rd hybrid class that may be R-attack and T-attack. But what weapon that class should use?

Well bouncer and jet boots was unexpected, so.....

Slicers and throwing knives/stars, perhaps!?!??!

I want Slicers back. ;_;

Also, they may need a "Switch Range" as Slicers would use T-atk like jetboots for normal attacks, and the second weapon could be a shotgun or a sniper rifle =w=

You make it sound like it's so terrible. A lot of people find enjoyment working from the bottom to the top. Besides, grinding to cap isn't that hard in PSO2 and making money isn't that awful either. It's also entirely possible to feel that sense of accomplishment again even if it's the same game. Now, not everybody(with you being a perfect example) would enjoy doing everything all over again... and that's fine. But, don't lash out at people like you did just because they enjoy things that you don't.

Besides, even with a large investment of time into JP PSO2, that doesn't make it a waste to move to a different server. You mean to tell me that many, MANY hours spent enjoying yourself are really a waste? If we're being honest, EVERY game is total waste of time.

Also, I don't see how their friends have anything to do with them moving servers. Even if you're strictly referring to their in-game friends, it's not like they can't move over as well. They would have the same choice as them.

Now, as far as what I would like to see..... 12* weapon trading and 11* unit trading are all I could really want. Maybe a feature that lets you trade 3 XQ units for a specific one because I GOT ALL THE ONES I DON'T WANT.

Also, they may need a "Switch Range" as Slicers would use T-atk like jetboots for normal attacks, and the second weapon could be a shotgun or a sniper rifle =w=

Needle-type shotguns, taking cues from crossbows or handheld shotguns would fit pretty well. And Slicer being "Talis with PAs" is extremely doable considering PSZero and jetboots.

So, yeah, explorer/professor/magical indiana jones class, and Beast race finally.

Personally I'd like to see accessory tickets applied account-wide and to be able to visit that planet shown in the first story cutscene of episode 3 (The one that gets destroyed by Double. We have time travel, and that planet looked fantastic, let's set it right!)

Oh yeah, and ability to place mags into storage, and to condense bank eating stone collections into stones by planet, replace auto-meseta-pickup with meseta just going straight into your inventory while it never touches the ground... And a whole plethora of other quality of life tweaks.

- Converting any weapon into a camo [Through crafting, maybe? Even if it costs money, I'd do it]
- Some kind of "Spellgun" weapon type... that combines Photon Arts with Techniques, like Jet Boots do
- A joint operation with the Dragonkin; since we help the Lillipans defend... perhaps we could invade with the Dragonkin? I guess we already have the Darker's Den, though, so I'm not sure what we would invade (Let's hop right on into the Profound Darkness! Yeah, that'll work...)

Things I badly want:

Weapon Palette Expansion II
Subpalette Expansion II (and more)
My Set Expansion Licenses (quest/AC/premium I don't care!)
Weapon/Chip Combination Expansion for PSO2es
Inventory Management Turbo Revamp:

Multi-factor sort algorithm, something like PAD, combining all the search methods that exist now into one neat sort pile.
Make said sorting method the "Default Sort"
Make the default sort apply for both regular inventory and Chip inventory in PSO2es
Multi-Affix shop search! At least this one's being considered!

Could talk about melee weapon balance, but it's actually somewhat okay. There are niches that every weapon fulfills, although it feels like XH and UQs are already exposing some weaknesses, like low PP efficiency, weaker DPS, and unsafe options.

- Magatsu doesn't being gigatic lambda dispenser anymore

- I wouldn't mind another compound tech but i expect all classes to get something like this.
Compound Techs were made to play FOrce/TEcher and TEcher/FOrce more (even though I'm using it as TEcher/BOuncer for invincibility). It would become useless if this mechanic was applied to all Classes.

- PA Customizations
Same as above : Tech Customization was made to play FOrce/TEcher and TEcher/FOrce more. It would become useless if this mechanic was applied to PA... But SEGA said they were thinking about it, sadly.

- PB being actually useful
Even without PB Chain, mine are quite useful (30000 per hit with Julius Nifta as TEcher/FOrce and Ketos Proi as TEcher/BOuncer is always cool for HP/PP restoration). We cannot one shot everything, can we ?

This is not what SEGA meant by putting it like that. When they said compound techs were for Fo/Te, they meant that it's supposed to encourage that class combo over Fo/Fi and Fo/Br (not over other class combos like, say, Ra/Br or Fi/Hu) by using elements from Techer's tree, since, apparently, those combos looked overpowered to them. A mechanic like this would really not be useless if it existed for other classes done in their own fashion (more reasons to do Ra/Gu and Bo/Br, in fact, would be nice).

Same as above : Tech Customization was made to play FOrce/TEcher and TEcher/FOrce more. It would become useless if this mechanic was applied to PA... But SEGA said they were thinking about it, sadly.

Again, the advantage is unfair here. A mechanic doesn't become useless just because other classes get access to it. The goal of tech crafting was to improve variety, not to give reason to play certain classes.

In regular quests? Maybe, it charges fast and it destroys things quickly. In UQ, however, its damage barely scratches enemies, and it also charges like 20 times slower due to charge points scaling off [(your_DPH/enemy_HP)^some_exponent].

Let me guess... You play neither FOrce nor TEchter, don't you ? The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. ^^ Well, it -COULD- be nice indeed.

I didn't mean the mechanic itself would become useless. I meant the reason why this mechanic was created for in the first place would become obsolete.

That's why brianless people should take advantage of the PB Chain to maximize the effectiveness of their PBs the rare times they get it in UQ (which never happens of course) !

More like you are the one who doesn't play other classes than just Fo, Te and Bo. I am familliar with all playstyles, I usually cap all my classes every time it gets raised (just not this time - UQ and XH are worthless) and can see what's good and what lacking in each one. I am also looking at each one from game design perspective, not just from player one.

I didn't mean the mechanic itself would become useless. I meant the reason why this mechanic was created for in the first place would become obsolete.

Again, that's not the core reason. It's a "tag-along" reason why techs were first to get customization. Now that game is balanced differently than a year ago, there's no reason not to add customizations for other classes.

That's why brianless people should take advantage of the PB Chain to maximize the effectiveness of their PBs the rare times they get it in UQ (which never happens of course) !

If you got a good organisation in your party/MPA - maybe that works. In other cases you can wait good few tens of seconds until at least one person decides to chain their PB with yours, which becomes a painfully obvious DPS loss with current balancing. There's simply no incentive to bother with it.

Also, about "never happens" part - do something to your damage. It might be "never" for you while it comes up in a few minutes for other people. Synchronization in damage is also important for chaining PBs, and that's another thing that gets in the way of chaining in UQs heavily.

Shironian Race + Bruiser Class: Or just add beasts :-D

Customizable Weapons:
-Only able to customize Starter weapons (Vita/Alva/etc.)
-Color change
-Name Change
-Pattern designs
-Able to add units/parts to make it look cooler
-Set abilities (Stamina, Power, etc. Start at Lvl.1)
-BUT, you can't sell the weapon.

^ ^ This right here would make me insanely happy. I've been saying you should be able to create/customize weapons for the longest. And now that PSNova has that option, I'm hoping they transfer to PSO2 soon.

-Whips and (real) Claw style weapons.

-I'm hoping for PSO areas either through VR simulation or time-travel. Either that or PSO-themed Extreme Quests.
-Speaking of EXQ, an actual tower climb mode with Bosses exclusive to the tower only. Basically a survival mode to see how far you can get without dying. Bosses are fought at certain points and you get the option to end your run after defeating it. No telepipes, no returns after 5 levels. Just a non-stop play-through to the highest floor until everyone either gets to the top or dies.

-Sword speed increased just a tad bit...just a tad...
-and maybe some decent PA's for it.
-Cool-looking Partizans. (Because the ones we have now are freakin' hideous)
-5th Accessory slot
-2nd Body Paint option

-New planets and areas.

- Make any weapon into a camo, or restrict it to make 1*-6*s into a camo.
- Either let us equip multiple camos, or pair camos to specific weapons rather than weapon types.
- Third makeup slot.
- Second Body Paint slot.
- Let us rotate and resize accessories.
- Make hair color change free.

Compound Techs were made to play FOrce/TEcher and TEcher/FOrce more (even though I'm using it as TEcher/BOuncer for invincibility). It would become useless if this mechanic was applied to all Classes.

Yeah, no. The compound tech design is currently a poor attempt at railroading players into playing what Sega wants players to play. Techer/anything is subpar at casting and there's no reason to play it specifically as a tech class, making the encouragement useless. Fo/Te doesn't even get the most damage for Zandeon, Fighter stances at least buff both parts of the tech, while Techer only has Wind Masteries and EWH to offer, and only infections and Vardha Soma's breakables are weak to both elements, which means all Techer gives is 44% more damage to the wind part of Zandeon in most circumstances. Average Stance adds more damage total simply by contributing to both parts of the attack.

Sega set out with a particular goal in mind and utterly failed in doing so. Fo/Te has been one of, if not the, best class ever since EP3 started, and needed no encouragement for people to play it more in the first place, and Te/Fo will never be viable because Fo/Te does casting better and subbing Hunter/Fighter/Braver does maining Techer better.

By the way, Te/Bo sucks. Play Te/Fi if you want to use Zandeon.

Same as above : Tech Customization was made to play FOrce/TEcher and TEcher/FOrce more. It would become useless if this mechanic was applied to PA... But SEGA said they were thinking about it, sadly.

No, tech customization is a buff to techs in general introduced when tech classes were doing horribly in SH because they were too weak and too slow. Not once has tech customization ever been intended to encourage specific classes in general, just improve on techs and give players more customization. There is no good reason not to include PA customization outside of keeping techs "special".

Even without PB Chain, mine are quite useful (30000 per hit with Julius Nifta as TEcher/FOrce and Ketos Proi as TEcher/BOuncer is always cool for HP/PP restoration). We cannot one shot everything, can we ?

Great, now count how many PBs are good and how many aren't.

Like three are actually worthwhile, two of which you named, and they're all poor for chains without variety. 4 Ketos Proi chained, oh yeah, real amazing. Even if you stretch the definition of worthwhile, more than half are terrible. There's obviously a problem here if 90% of PBs used are the same three out of 15.

Jan 2, 2015, 04:43 PM
There's a useful PB that isn't Julius Nifta or Ketos Proi?

edit: also yes don't chain. 4 separate Niftas lasts longer and does more damage than 4 chained Niftas. Ditto with Ketos Proi
edit2: well ok julius nifta won't do more damage, per se, but you'll kill more enemies with them separate.

LonelyGaruga
Jan 2, 2015, 08:38 PM
Think Ilios Proi does good enough damage to be "viable", but since it's only good for killing bosses quickly, it might as well not be a good PB, since it's got a pretty niche use. But at least it's actually good for what it does, unlike every other PB not named Julius Nifta/Ketos Proi.

But yeah, for mobbing, there's only those two PBs that are worth using.

To be able to purchase 13* weapons in shops. ^^
AMEN!
And of course, 11* unit passes.

Mining Base Defense : Annihilation (or wtv its name, it sounds cool)

WAVE 9 BEGINS
ULTIMATE DANGER
And a new class + race ofc for Episode 4 update, a ranged-tech hybuild with slicers and a pure ranged melee wep, maybe dual handguns ? Or shotgun ? Or Sniper Rifle ? Idk..
New TD FTW!!!
Also, been thinking we should get a new class focused on short to mid range aoe.
Slicers + needles.
Shots would be a terrible idea though, cause they would allow to wipe the field instantly before letting melee do anything ever. Or the aoe would have to b nerfed so much it would just be launchers v2.

AIS only quest
They said they plan to do this.
We already have a bunch of reusable enemies like mizers, vardha, cougar and they can probably use ult lilipa enemies (wasn't there some banther like mech?), too.
Recolor, "balance" stats a bit and done.
Just hurry up, Sega!

-11* Unit Tickets
-12* Weapon Tickets
-13* Weapon Tickets or at lease let us trade them with friends
-Reverser Field with 2 minutes or less of cool down
-3 Half Dolls a month for premium members
Yes, yes, yes please!

Toy Darker Midboss
Toy Darker Area Boss
Higher droprate on Magatsu
Streamlined skill trees with a more even distribution of damage boosts across classes. Also, less front-loading, back-loading or 20+ points being sunk into a cooldown skill just to get it to work decently when other classes have better cooldowns with just 10 points.
Siege/invasion mission where players have to break down Darker walls, capture and hold a bunch of control points to rack up score before a certain time while fending off Darker and Kuronite waves.

Yes, this.
I suppose toy darker bosses will come with kuronia (100% sure sega will announce this soon).
Skill trees got greatly improved already but still need some work. Nonsense like having to spend points in unrelated skills like ZRA for Attack PP Restorate or Avg stance critical for Avg stance up.
Not to mention the ridiculous initial 3-5 points you need in main stat up 1.

- Ability to equip multiple camo for different weapon category
- Casino game that actually fun and not grindfest
- Removal of stance time limit (seriously, what's the fucking point to make it auto OFF after 30 mins)
- Tweak blacklist feature to make blacklisted person unable to join the same MPA as you
- More class balance change, seriously
DO want multiple weapon camos and finally some decent casino games, sega derped massively on this one.
And stances with cd and time limit are indeed silly.
But blacklist affecting mpa is BS.

Anyway, my list is long.
First of all, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiFDnDmLyII
MAKE IT HAPPEN, SEGA!

Game mechanics
- 10 weapon palettes. This goes without saying.
- Gunner being good again.
Please.

-an appropriate nerf of the gamebreaking damage multipliers like WB and CT balanced by buffing base pa / tech damage.
- return rangers to their former epic crowd control glory. ranger dps in PSOBB was damn good, too without relying on WB.
-a shop extension for at least 50 or better 60 slots.
- more my sets, 10 isn't nearly enough when you play all classes on 1 character
- Dudu Nerf. That shit is op. Make grinding more successful!
-more katana pa potentials so you can make a full pa rainbow with good weapons.
-racial traits (that are good), we talked a lot in that other topic and there were some very nice ideas
-lots of fun c-mode stages. Back when playing PSOBB I hated having to learn the maps but after tacos I don't mind this anymore.
- since abilities are the % of this game, c-mode should drop you gear with epic abilities and as a prize for beating a stage you can keep some of it like in XQs. Time for epic fodder farming.
- soul that boosts modulator and more enemies that can drop modulator
- friggin returner (and V, too) drops
-vopar taco for each difficulty like with the others
-quarry and shironia tacos, also for each difficulty (shironia should include kuronia)
- free exploration areas with new enemies, bosses and an eq:
-kuronia
- Mothership and Infected Mothership
- urban
- darker den
- ragne / hunar / vibras as are or or minibosses
-code:abyss as new code everywhere (with drops, too)
- DF Vibras fight
- remove goddamn operators from tacos! early tacos (nab 1 / amduscia / lillipa) are without them, the only way to truly encourage taing is to not have a cockblock that prevents all actions every 20 seconds. Or at least make it so they don't fade out your hud and you can still continue normally
- reduce damage, activation pp cost and pp uphold cost of sphere eraser, lets us actually play with that epic laser!
- reduce activation cost for Million Storm, it's still too high to use efficiently
- make defensive stance and boost educe all dmg and boost all def, at the moment hu tank is not that good cause you have a ton of different options that are all underwhelming by themselves and to get a really good tank build you need over 100 sp.
- Average Stance up 2 (at least 10% again)
- another break stance boost for non breakable parts to make it truly viable overall and not this niche
- total removal of cd and fistpump of fi stances, give us Ikaruga already!!!
- upgraded search indeed. In the end it's really just an SQL select, so adding more options is unbelievably easy and a 2months programming intern could do it. Preventing SQL injection is super easy, too.
Allow us to search for 4+ abilities (the reason why I don't buy premade fodder is cause I don't wanna sift through the list forever). Allow us to search for every type of ticket. Allow us to search for (or least order by) total atk / pp bonus! Allow us to search for AC content only for the recycle shop
- allow to craft without account binding
-actual Unit potentials like add x to all def, x% chance to remove status effects, resist x dmg by x%
- marks for units, especially mark grif
- PA customization indeed!
- claws, with lots and lots kung fu moves
- turn Fury Gear boost into just gear boost and remove or greatly reduce sword gear depletion. Anyway, make it so that regardless of stance (to make tank good) sword gear doesn't take forever to get up and then depletes to a low amount after 2-3 groups of enemies and every single time you walk a little without enemies around.

Visuals
- Fate/extra collbaration. Give me that caster voice already!
-Akame ga Kill collaboration, I want that katana camo and her outfit
- in general a really cool katana weapon camo, the only way to use a pa rainbow is with camo or lag will ruin everything
- speaking of which, I want ALL of the good design contest entries for camos and outfits. Seag are stupid so I don't know what would happen but these are awesome designs that can generate a ton of profit and they are 100% free for sega. They only have to add them to the game.
-my room mech hangar layout. I got 9 support partners total (5 chars, only use 2 of those), all male casts named after super/real robots. I want my Gundam hangar now!
- more hairstyles that hide your ears so you can use animals ears without either looking totally stupid or being limited to a handful hairstyles

* * Fully adjustable camera with scrolly zoom in and out. I hate having to use wall/object collision to get a close screenshot

Customizations must not all about increasing it's damage output/PP usage like tech one does, though.
Something like range, AoE, speed or status effects might be pretty neat.
Even if they end up being the same as tech customizations one, i don't see why it's being useless at all.

But Guard Stance is the main point of tank hu. Even if the other abilities are good, it sucks that guard stance, which should be your base so you can customize your tank build easily without sacrificing a lot of the useful skills, isn't very good.
It's just so stupid any reasonable tank build needs ~25 points into flash guards ontop of guard stance to be worth a damn.
There are no so many options to increase guard stance dps but you can't really use them either cause they cost too much. So you end up with a build that is mediocre at tanking AND mediocre at dps, not a decent tank with decent dps.
There are a lot of builds you can make with the tree but most aren't that good.

I didn't even realize Guard Stance got a damage boosting skill until now. Pity it's not strong enough to really make it a viable option still.

On a side note, I find it kind of dumb that we presumably need to wait until the next UQ for the next set of PAs/techs. They've never had such a huge gap in the past, as far as I can recall.

This year? though not going to happen..

Changing Weak Bullet Completely, and actually balancing the game around the classes themselves and not Weak Bullet depending on everything, as well as balancing the game from all the bullshit PAs that hit for Six Digit Numbers and kill bosses in 10 - 20 seconds (or less)...

I consider this version to have the worse implementation of Force I've seen in any game. Some might reply with the "WTF are you talking about, FORCE IS HIGH DAMAGE" and I am not writing about the "high damage" output...I mean the Elemental Choice...

In PSU we could level any tech and work with any tech. In order to "FEEL COMPLETE" as a force and have all the techs work, one has to level two types to max, choose elements over the skill tree and then if that is not enough, weapon choice is limited to using TALIS for the extra damage on FORCE, and supplanting ROD in many cases....So by ENDGAME if everyone had all the money in the world, every single damn force will have the same 2 - 3 Armor Sets and the exact same loadout due to all the Potentials...

Not to mention that unless one has Elysion, one is stuck in a gameplay where we have to charge every single damn tech out there.

I like to have more objective based MPAs as well. :)

Well My list can by a mile long like everyone elses... :)

Killing your own damage output for the worst defensive skill on the Hunter tree is the main point of playing tank Hunter? Well I'll be damned. I didn't know that.
You don't get it? That is the very point, it sucks.

The tank tree heavily focuses on Guard Stance. You need it to unlock most defensive skills and some only work with it like Absorption and Advance.
Advance is a new skill that is pointless cause it costs so much you cannot actually make a nice offensive tank build but only something subpar in every aspect.
And that's cause you need the Flashguards to have actual dmg reduction, if Guard Stance alone would reduce all damage and was worth getting you could skip Flash Guard for a Hybrid build leaning more towards defense instead of offense.

Of course you can get Flash Guard ontop of Fury but that is a hybrid build heavily leaning towards dps.
Cause after maxing fury you can get like 10% dmg boost max if you skip all defensive options.

Tank tree needs to be revamped so you can get actual basic tank builds with nice defense (i.e. a good guard stance) and than add offense ontop with Advance and Warcry/Warbrave (neither of these alone is worth much for a tank).
Or you can go full tank with all guard stance + boost + flash guards and take tiny amounts of damage from everything in exchange for very low dps.
And you can mix it up with Absorption if you want.

Also, skills to remove a status when activating guard stance need to be deleted. This is total bs because it requires to turn guard stance off, even if just for 2 fistpumps. That is plenty time to get hit and you could easily get interrupted when re-activating so now you get juggled without your defense.
Sega being Sega probably thought tank hus only use guard stance when it gets really dangerous so they normally run around without.

Actually being able to dodge during tech charing and then resume right where you left without needing more time nor more pp (and having even refilled some pp during dodging) is a really damn good reason not to use Talis. 20% extra damage is 20%, nice but not nearly as much of a game changer as rod skills.

Also, being able to lvl a skill / weapon / etc. is terrible, terrible game design because you are not just able to do it, you HAVE TO.
I have yet to play a single game where this stuff didn't mean if you chose option A sooner or later option B will be far better in a dungeon and you are either gonna have a real hard time or you have to grind a lot to get option B (or C, D, E, F...) to a decent lvl.
I never played PSU but I don't think it is much different.

Being able to use your favorite element everywhere is very nice. It's kinda disappointing that best damage isn't just using the element something is weak against but considering that the game mechanics require to have a different weapon for every element and even several skill trees (which you cannot easily change depending on enemies), this is good at the moment.

It's one thing to have a DB rainbow and not being able use the appropriate element against the boss that just spawned in Ocean of Death or any other multi-enemy quest cause your palette is set for the wrong enemies, so you need a few seconds to change your light db for your dark db, but it's a completely different thing to not be able to deal decent dmg at all because you would have to exit the quest and change your skill tree.

This needs to be changed but I can't think of anything that wouldn't require changing core game mechanics.

More like they need to buff the other ones because only 5 of them are useful. And one of those is used for dashing.
TBH I don't mind 4-5 PAs being the best and the rest being just nice.
It's stupid if there are useless PAs but we only have 6 weapon slots and you probably want something else on the 6th like a bow or gunslash.

Also, I just noticed (almost) no one had XH exploration on their list. I guess we really don't expect this to happen anytime soon >_>

Oh and Warcry needs to be fixed.
I know how to use it now but it still kinda sucks.
In TD if you grab aggro from 5 goldies and 10 seconds later 5 more appear, you cannot do anything about it whatsoever.
If you want to keep aggro away from a pp converting force for example, you can do it for the first enemy wave and that's it, all others run straight to the force.
If you want to grab aggro as Fi to keep up brave stance, it works for a handful enemies and that's it.
In all these cases you have to wait like 20 seconds to be able to use warcry again and by then it's completely pointless.
An extra skill (1 point) that converts (or toggles) warcry into something grabbing aggro every second would be nice.

Hi Megi: )

In PSU you ended up getting PAs at Level 1. From using the disks you would level them up in battle all the way up to 50. The PA would change at every X1 level 1, 11, 21, 31, 41. There were also PA caps depending on class.

I actually like that system because given between choosing over

a) Spend 100s of hours going through XHs looking for every level 17 tech + looking for the high end techs in SHAQs.

b) Actually Level my Techs from Level 1 to 50 without having to actually search everywhere for them, while also not have to level a second class with a bunch of multipliers in order to make a "Complete" spellcaster and have it self-contained as well....

I rather choose option B.

You see, I use rods and talis, but there is still the problem that thanks to Fire having Fast-Casting in its tree...Its higher DPS than the other techs. In fact I do more DPS using Fire based techs against enemies in Caverns than actually using their inherent weakness...Ice. The exception is Illbarta which is overpowered as hell.

...and this is because I have to actually put in points to increase the actual tech damage..

All Elements (Techer and Force) have two damage increasers, one special (at least) and one (status rate increase), but that is my point..

in PSU I didn't need to max out two types and put in skill trees which techs to use in order to actually deal damage. I could just focus on the weapon and slotting the techs to get a damage increase. Wands/Mags had faster cast times, Rods did more damage.

What we have in PSO-2 are DARK TECHS and FIRE TECHS dominating everything except in the cases we can get away with Illbarta and of course the wind techs like Zanverse.

In PSU, I had all my techs at level 50. I could equip my Rods and Mag/Wand (mags were weapons in PSU) and combine it with GAS to fit my playstyle.

Any Map, any area...I could use my Level 50 Techs and I didn't need to have 3 - 4 skill trees with damage increasers in order to make a tech-line work while depowering the others...

However to be fair...it took me around 200 - 300 hours of playing to raise all of my techs to 50, but it felt earned and it was nice....while getting your PAs above level 10 in this game especially level 17 is a hell of a lot of RNG that will take a lot of time as well.

When I went to PSU-JP, I remember raising my types on the road to masterforce..Fortetecher, Wartecher...etc...and I had fun raising MF to 20. By the time I capped the class and found a way to depower myself...to rapid level them in the GC area and on Seed Express....It was stellar because if I started a new class I could turn the PAs back into DISKS and give them to my other characters :)

By the time I reached max level in PSU, I had most of my techs at 50....and all elements were functional and were pretty cool.

I hate the entire "oh if I want to use lightning techs, I have to go into a Lightning Tree, so I go into a Lightning Map...." and I remember the maps in PSU where it was amazing to have four kinds of elements on enemies and having weapons to go.

Try doing that in PSO-2 and most are just going to run Fire/Dark and obliterate everything.

I find what would be better is to change the mechanic to two types...

A Charged-Style of play where our damage increases based on charged techs and things we do with charged techs, Not elements themselves....Maybe even Range too.....

And an Uncharged Style that has us increase damage in different ways, along with abilities that help it like the stances that other classes have..

Then Weapon Proficiencies to tailor style, and perhaps a Gear for Rods and Talis....and have that work instead of

"6 Elements, two classes, 30 points per element you want to be good..."

But yes. :)

I am not saying PSU was not flawed as hell too, but even with the damage forces do in PSO-2, I feel like one-third the force I was in PSU....Not to mention the bullshit that if I am not a class, but can transfer a weapon to be usable by the class, I can't use its PAs. Where the weapon selection for Hybrid Classes in PSU was sheer amazement..

Speaking of which...

I also miss twin claws and slicers ;( as well as cards :(....

Anyone here remember PSU whips on Acrotecher and Wartecher? :)

I will say that rangers and ranged classes have gotten better in PSO-2 but I really miss the KNOCKDOWN abilities that Level 31+ PAs had on Rifles :) along with the SE Level 5...

What did SEGA do? "Oh wait, SEs are too powerful in PSO2...so we will in one of our first five updates make the proc rate suck" :(

I will hope for the best in 2015. ^_^

Thanks for reading my long winded, super long post. :P If I could put it in a codex, I would! :P

Of course you can get Flash Guard ontop of Fury but that is a hybrid build heavily leaning towards dps.
Cause after maxing fury you can get like 10% dmg boost max if you skip all defensive options.

It's also the best way to tank because you can actually do something while tanking, which is the point of tanking. Guard Stance sucks not just because it's a bad defensive skill, but also because it turns off Fury skills, which is really what kills it. Guard Stance guarantees that you are missing out on a 1.45x modifier to your damage that has essentially no condition (1.1x of it being JAing, which you should always do). Fury Stance barely mitigates your survivability, making it better for going damage + tanking, which is what you should be doing, because there's no place for a pure tank build. A pure tank build is bad at mobbing, bad at flinching bosses, bad at contributing to DPS races (Falz rain parade, breaking Loser swords, Magatsu in general), bad at literally everything but dying.

As such, Guard Stance is, by design, a completely irreparable skill, and irrelevant to tanking in general, as Massive Hunter + Halfline Automate alone makes you essentially invincible. I don't know how that doesn't qualify as being a tank.

What we have in PSO-2 are DARK TECHS and FIRE TECHS dominating everything except in the cases we can get away with Illbarta and of course the wind techs like Zanverse.

Haha dark techs, overpowered, haha, good one.

Ilbarta overpowered too? Yeah, sure, let's go with that. Never mind that it got nerfed pretty badly (along with Ilmegid) and a bunch of other techs were buffed. Like Ragrants. Pretty much best darker boss killer right now.

If anything Guard Stance should've been the one with some kind of Guard SD Bonus, so that it's behind most of the time but conditionally, after a Just Guard it can do better damage.

But TBH a tank HU would be an Average/Fury Br/Hu with Combat Escape. What better way to hold aggro than be completely invincible for 20 seconds, super armor for the next 45 and a super block button on top of that? Alternatively, Megiverse self-healing Hu/Bo.

Ilbarta is still pretty much the top-tier bossing tech on almost everything though, so I'd argue it's pretty overpowered still. Unlike before though, you need your own power to back that up, and on some things it's only overpowered with a couple of other people casting with you. In lots of cases of course, you're better using something else, but Ilbarta can get the job done on everything still.

If a pure fire FO can kill a SH Snow Banther in one chain of Ilbarta, using a weapon with no t-atk for the first 4 casts and Elysion for the last 3, I'd argue it's still overpowered.

Also using an enemy's weakness is always faster than using something that isn't the enemy's weakness, unless you're one shotting with the weaker element anyway. Also yes, Dark Techs suck. They can do a lot of damage, but they're generally rather slow (apart from Gimegid) and not worth using unless you're in a dark area.

Alternatively, Megiverse self-healing Hu/Bo.

Try Te/Hu. Hell, Hu/Te > Hu/Bo, but Te/Hu > Hu/Te anyway.

-Deband Cut
-Deband Toughness (for Te/Hu)
-cheaper, wider Megiverse, allowing for movement within it
-Super Treatment for healing + PP restoration on Anti
-stronger Resta if you're into that
-faster PP regen to mitigate tech costs

What does Bouncer even have over Techer as a subclass, tank-wise?

In UQ Dispersion pulls aggro over a wider area since they're Zondeel-proof. Also you can PBF to pull aggro from Anga from range and with higher DPS. Not to mention easy super armor access outside of Massive Hunter.

I mean, other than UQ do you really need a tank?

Anyway PP costs aren't an issue with DBs, considering all the PP management in the Bouncer tree.

I consider the point of tanking simply to be able to use super armor in situations where it would normally be too dangerous to do so. Not pulling aggro. That's another task entirely that has nothing to do with your ability to take hits, so it shouldn't be considered tanking. You can just use War Cry for that stuff, and even if you couldn't, pulling an enemy people are trying to attack away from them is a waste of time.

But at any rate, I think UQs are pretty damn easy in all honesty, so I wouldn't say they're needed there either. Enemies are still quickly annihilated, just not as quickly as in SH. Not a big deal unless your MPA's damage sucks, but then the problem is your MPA and not that UQs are difficult. Because they really aren't, just more difficult comparatively speaking. PSO2 in general is quite easy and does not warrant tanking either by design or by difficulty. Tanking is entirely a choice for increasing DPS and not much more than that.

Scratch PP stuff then, but you still have -15% from all damage types, +25% max HP, Super Treatment for a healing Anti (like, 50% of your HP or something), wider Megiverse, and a stronger Resta (granted, only the first two are a big deal).

I'd consider pulling aggro a part of tanking in that it redirects projectiles or attacks that would have gone to someone else towards the tank instead, ideally at minimal loss to the tank's DPS considering they should have some form of invincibility or self-healing with super armor to handle those projectiles. That allows other players without super armor to concentrate on DPS rather than dodging. It's not so much pulling mobs towards you but pulling attacks towards you and making sure the boss faces the right way and doesn't move around too much. And yes UQs are easy and things have probably changed with pugs since I last stepped into them.

Anyway that's is the last I'll say about this considering this is a wishlist thread.

Have fun.
To answer all your questions even though your response is just a sarcastic troll who just woke up this morning:

Q1. Yes i will restart ALL the charcters ive leveled up to this point.... ( 0 because i havnt played on another countries servers because its to much of a hassle.)

Q2.Yes, dealing with farming, crafting, hunting , GETTING >.>, and sky high pricing is just part of the game ( and i mean EVERY game ) you'll ever play. Cant do it? Dont play.

Lack of content is just Sega, mabey if we got more people interested in the game for the Americas, they would put a little more effort into content patch releases.

Oh and lose all your friends? LOL if they were really your friends, you probably have their phone numbers in real life, KNOW them personally, and they would join you just to be WITH you. If that sounds like to much to ask well, they probably are not really your friends so much as online acquaintances....

I apologize, i just saw your sarcastic reply and couldn't help myself. Ive been praying and hoping that they would bring this game to the states. - Allow some room decos to be put into the team room (like crafting devices)
- Ability to launch missions from there with an option to directly llaunch it as a closed MPA for the team

Other than that, diversified content will be good enough to me.

The engine already has the capability (My Room designer, just on a larger scale). I don't think it'd be laggy either since there's no spawns involved, just two players, a bunch of a ships, and maybe spectators.

I know they won't do it of course. I just wish we'd get some more interesting modes besides "run through map, stab things, repeat". There is a lot of potential they're missing out on, don't care about, or just waiting for time to implement.

We need a Arks Ship/urban EQ where we get to pilot campships. There would be emergency trials where the ship breaks down and then we land and fight on the ground like normal and repair the campship. We also have to shoot down darker infections before they take down your ship. If you fail that trial you lose your ship and have to fight from the ground where it will be tough.

Also they could introduce a flying Dark Falz that we have to fight in campships.

Uh, Garuga, doesn't quite matter what you personally think of tanking cause the rest of the world defines it differently.

Your total ignorance of what taking means makes me facepalm.
A tank's purpose is to pull aggro away from others than either take and survive or (more rarely) dodge hits.
Point is the role of tank is very much keeping damage away from others while being hard to kill.

Dps has nothing to do with tanking.
You can have hybrid with varying degrees of each but as long as you use Fury stance it's a dps build with maybe a little bit of survivability or aggro management.

As I mentioned before, warcry is a very subpar way to manage aggro because there are far too many situations where you have to wait for the cd to end and then it's far too late.

Sega needs to improve tanking so there is a point in using the 2nd hu stance.
Or remove it entirely and change the tree so it has less pointless skills and more dps, utility and some quick and easy survivability like flash guard and iron will you can simply add onto your dps build and choose what you like.

At the moment we just have a lot of junk cluttering up the hu tree. It's a pity cause the stuff sounds good in theory but in practice you lack the sp to make it work.

As for lvling skills/techs. It does have some advantages but I only remember situations where I need something I haven't lvled yet.
Or, even worse, spamming skills inappropriate for the situation because I wanted to lvl them so later they would be good, instead of being able to use the good skills as much as I want and being able to use the others at full power when I do need them.

And whether you run XH for discs (nonsense cause not even the 10% for melee pas are a huge difference, 16 will do the job just fine) or because you need more exp for skills is the same.

And really, this also means you can only ever lvl skills for the weapon you are using. No way to upgrade techs as anything other than a force or techer (you don't wanna do bo casting, do you?).
That means spamming Vol Graptor and Banish Arrow on mobs because it's far easier to lvl this way than a boss fight, but now your killspeed is in the gutter and you kill slow and get slow exp.

This also means every time a new pa or tech is released it's weak as fucking hell. The il techs are all very good but imagine you wouldn't be able to deal any decent damage with them because you start at lvl and it takes you weeks (sega) to get to lvl 17.

With discs you just need some luck, everything is based on luck anyway, not like this is a difference.

This is an action RPG. Not a standardfare MMO. Tanking works differently. The entire game works differently from a standardfare MMO. Don't compare the two.

1) Pulling aggro isn't nearly as useful as in a standardfare MMO because dodging is simply that much easier. In a standardfare MMO, tanks have to be around or everyone will die. PSO2 doesn't do this.
2) Because the only things that generate hate are a couple skills and inflicting damage, the most reliable way to get aggro is to deal damage. Most standardfare MMOs have things like heals generate hate, in order to give greater danger to healers, who need tanks to overtake their hate generation. PSO2 doesn't do this.
3) Because every attack is avoidable, the only beneficial reason to get hit is to use super armor. Ergo, tanking in the sense of being durable and difficult to kill is most useful for DPS.
4) Tanking is also used to increase personal DPS regardless of game type, as the hate generation from tank skills in standardfare MMOs usually pair with skills that increase DPS in some form or fashion.

Still don't see an argument about how you're essentially invincible with Massive Automate regardless of Fury being active or not, making most of the bad defensive skills redundant on top of being bad. You can tank exactly the way you define with a full Fury build as you could if Guard Stance skills were better, only your damage doesn't suffer for it. Don't see what's so hard to understand about that.

More Casino Prizes.
More lobby's/Open world experience, Liks PSU was after the expansion. (Like when you go to a world you go to the worlds lobby like in PSU)
More weapons.
Ways to get Arks cash for free (Enable advertisements during loading screens or something for Arks cash? that could help fund servers as well)
Free trading/Shops (never going to happen, I know)
More diversity in quests/client orders (Really good about this so far, but more is always nice)

Hunar and Angel were story mode only when they were implemented though. Most likely, the standard Falz form will be a story mode fight like Hunar and Angel were, and Dark Falz Double will be the 12 player boss. Assuming the 12 player boss fight is Double at all, could be something else. It'd be really weird if Double's boss fights came out so soon, there's still only three toy darkers.

Seriously, fuck that planet. The enemies are annoying, tedious, and PSE bursts would be total shit to deal with :/

Shadow the Hedgehog Jet Boots camo... I don't like any of the camos already in the game.
Current JB camos are sick indeed. Never seen such crap before. But with Sonic Knuckles camo already here for ages, Shadow's boots should be available soon !

There's like 1 good JB camo (imo) and that's the Skis you get from on of the Magazines.

my 2015 wish list is

1. 11* unit passes
2. these routing issues to finally be globally resolved, with the proxy no longer being needed. (nothing against the proxy, but i'd vastly prefer not being dependent on it)
3. an ability unit slot (something akin to the 4 slots in pso1 where you could put your god/battle, cure/freeze, etc.)
4. mag de-leveling
There are no routing issues. The game runs smoothly and everything is fine, every problem has been resolved several months ago.
You don't really think sega gives fuck about gaijin, do you?

God/Battle. Wow. The game will just fall apart. So you can squeeze 3 more Final Nemesis into one Banish Arrow? So you can spam Ilfoie 5 times more during PP Convert?
So you can do god knows what with Chase Arrow or fill up your chain counter in under 3 seconds?
It was nice in PSO1 cause it was a very slow game but this game is already super fast paced, a speed increase is completely out of place.

BTW Vibras should be Apprentice's Hunar form, what we need is her final boss single quest form.

Anyway, I agree that it would be nice to get some quests like we had in PSO1.
Max Attack, Endless Nightmare, War of Limits, Phantasmal World, just to name a few.

And before Gunslash skill tree, a single gear skill would already be very nice.
And yes, of course we need slicers D:

Considering how bug-like Apprentice's summons are, I wouldn't be surprised if she turned into Falz Kerrigan.

Vibras is just a powerful insect darker. You can see in the third opening that Apprentice just summons it. Not to mention it dies when killed, whereas Hunar and Angel just shrug it off and leave. Apprentice's Hunar equivalent probably won't happen this year, Double's has been datamined. Apprentice should be EP4.

Hm, what about microblogs? People could use those to tell others what COs they need to do, what stuff they need help with, how active they are going to be... Maybe even organize MPAs, if used properly?

I've thought about something like that. Maybe not microblogs exactly, but something you can use to advertise you'd like to do a certain thing. You can already signal to your friendslist that you're looking for a party or looking for party members if you set your status to either one, but it only works if they're in the same block which is useless...

I'd love to be able to signal I'm looking for people for TD MPAs in some way, like a little message that would appear if you highlighted my name on my friendslist or something (eg: TD1 MPA 1/12 / 襲来@11).

Didn't PSO1 have something like that? I don't remember.

Yes but almost no one ever wrote anything there and even fewer people looked at it, most didn't even know it existed.

It's a great idea though because it's annoying to have to shout in public chat that you are looking for a taco party or something, especially because public chat aoe is tiny.

if you write something next to Hans, people hanging around Koffie that aren't in your party will not see it.

And a sort functionality would be nice (you could set a general status like wanting to do the EQ, wanting to clear dailies, doing tacos, etc.).
Sorting for nearby players would also be nice.
Sort by lvl, sort by who is looking for a party, sort by class, etc.
