This is pretty much a usb hub. Why not just get a usb hub?

If it gets backed, and ships in a reasonable amount of time, that's pretty neat. I play some emulators on my PC, and honestly a 360 controller doesn't always mesh well with some old games, so being able to plug in the appropriate controller into a single device would be great rather than shelling out a higher price for individual adapters.
