About "Shuffling" Eggs

I got an Egg online and I really want a drill launcher but i don't want to open the egg yet because i heard about the item shuffling. The problem I have is how exactly do i go about doing it. I know it involves soft reseting your system but when? I don't want to lose the Egg that I worked so hard to get

Ok, all you have to do is go offline. Difficulty doesn't matter.

Then, open the egg. If you get the Drill Launcher, great. If not, simply hold down X + B + Start and the game will reset, taking you back to the title screen. Everything will be back to the way it was when you started the last game. Repeat until you get your Drill Launcher.
