Okay, I think that this post belongs in this section..but if not please let me know.
I think this situation I'm about to describe is due to the weird way the game handles the issues of lag.

Me and a friend are battling the Mines Boss..we end up breaking all of the monitors on the perimeter of the room. Next we start breaking the columns that pop out of the floor. We get down to the last one and...nothing happens. The game is still running, we can both move and talk, but as far as AI activity there is nada.
So we start trying all kinds of things, firing the mag photon blasts...techniques, etc..But the only way to get out of the room is to either die (which there was no way since there are no enemies to do damage) or reset the xbox.

After 5 mins of waiting around...I decided to reset while my friend stays in the room. 30 secs later when I log back in to the game, he said that on his screen my character lag dropped and as soon as that happend the game continued.

Okay, so there are some serious lag issues and I can sort of deal with that. The thing that is really making me mad is that I lost *everything* in my inventory that I did not currently have equipped. I lost 2 pretty good weapons and a SPECIAL WEAPON drop that I was carrying around. The real pisser is that the only way I could get out of the room was to reset. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I realize that there is no way for me to get back the stuff that I lost. But what I'd like to see is if someone can address these lag issues that keep occuring the more I play the game.

BTW if anyone else has a horror story they'd like to share, be my guest.

Couldn't you have gone into the menu and used Quit and save?

at the time I was too pissed at the game freezing up to think straight http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Yea, PSO is a very emotional game.

One moment you're jumping for joy over a fat little blue bird. The next you're crying to your momma.

But for some reason we keep on playing.

Actually that happened to me like the first day. Some other guys died to vol opt 1 and just returned to the ship, and suddenly i was stuck in a room with nothing happening. Just had to go to quit. I wasn't lagging out or anything, cause I was still talking to the other people. hasn't happened since then, but it was strange.
And any time you quit without saving, you'll lose everything that isn't equipped, so DONT DO IT. =p

Ya the lag on the Xbox version seems so much worse than what I used to see on my Dreamcast *hugs dreamcast* The problem I have is I hope they fix these server issues since they are going to make us pay 9 bux for this. I think the Voice Chat is far worse than anything and probably the real culprit since a lot of time you hear the other people just fine, and then they break up. This is high speed and it cannot handle it, I wish they would have just kept keyboard. At least I could bitch without people hearing me LOL (hate when I forget to mute my mic and start swearing cuz I died).

But the above poster is correct... I will play this game forever no matter how much it pisses me off http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I've had that happen a couple times, in the original PSO and PSO v2. It's caused by a sync problem with one of the players, hasn't happened to me on PSOX yet, but the cracking voice problem is pretty annoying.

Happened to me the first time i fought V-hard falz on PSOx a few days ago, he was at the last phase and was starting to go trough his dying sequence when he just froze and stood on the side of the ring, like when you're supposed to hit him, of course we all got really scared, but finally one o our teammates was disconnected and everything went back to normal, so it really is a synching problem...

That happened to me on the GC.

Beat first form of Vol Opt and nothing happened. Then suddenly after 10 seconds it went to the 2nd form. A second later and i flashed back to the first form.

Then we went back to the second.

Ya the whole synching issues is something I hope they plan to fix before everyones free 2 months is up.

It was pretty dumb of me not to think about saving and quiting, but when you spend an hour just getting to the boss, and are about to beat the boss...and then things start going whacko... you tend not to think straight. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Anyways, aside from the 2 second delay on the xbox live headset...I will continue to play, even tho I get pretty peeved at some of the lvls. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I don't think the sync problem is something they will fix, since its been happening since the first DC version. Maybe they can't fix it.

If it happens a lot with the same player, it means there is probably a network route problem between you and that person.
