How do you like to play when it comes to games in general?

I like fighting really hard situations, things where the only way to win is a lot of dodging and strategy.
Aside from that I enjoy really fast movement or attacks, being able to run around from enemy to enemy, trying to finish them off before they can attack. I typically play with no defense, all speed and attack.

It depends on the game:

But generally, I like to get up close and personal when it comes to attacking; preferably wielding a weapon in each hand.

I also like to plan out my character's advancement ahead of time as well.

Usually, I play to pretend I'm there in the flesh: escaping in that world to marvel at its intricate or simple designs, bask in its beauty and give in to the entertainment that spawns from various rules I can think of to impose onto myself and/or my character as an attempt to find more ways to distract myself with the virtual universe that is within my reach. Anything to draw me in further and longer.

...

tl;dr: I like to play with the game as much as I like to play the game.

Favorite in Online Games has always been "Command" work in PvP Oriented stuff with other designated Commanders. Sometimes, we collaborate between servers to make "PvP-Based events" for the servers involved and we literally use Teamspeak (or Mumble) with group leaders of each server to coordinate events.

We do stuff like this because of the main difference between PvP and PvE:

In PvE, the computer is the enemy and will entertain you and make the game for you.
In PvP, other players are the enemy, and since we are all human... we depend on each other to make each other's night. We share the same gripes, but continue to live in our little corner of paradise.

PSO-2 is my escape from an escape in playing a different type of game where I feel I don't have to compete. ;) I've always been a believer that regardless the merit or feat one accomplishes in SinglePlayer or PvE in any game... it doesn't compare to PvP accomplishments ever. ^_^

its a biased view from me...
but at least its out in the open. :)

Depends on the game.

Any new game or series that I decide to pick up, I usually play blind, explore, and avoid spoilers/help/research on the game until the game becomes a norm for the sake of not spoiling the game on first run. However, most of the time I just sit around observing the game's art and be a real critic on it because everyone is always yapping about mechanics and gameplay. If I completed the game and have no other games to play, I usually do a challenge run, start collecting everything, or gather all rewards possible. Everyone once-n-while I'll do some random shenanigans just to please my insanity.

When it comes down to games or series that I've been playing for sometime I usually set a high goal to work towards for be it ultra rare loot, top tier dps/heal (with lower tier classes), soloing raid level bosses, etc. Most of the time I just do random shenanigans like surviving a fall that should had killed me or making random competitive builds/sets Say hello to Ice Punch Mega Aggron Grachump :D.

However, in general to all games I play, I usually stick to a role that has a lot of multi-tasking because I hate just doing one thing or one thing at a time. I always like to be that guy with good flexibility.

If the game is online multiplayer and has a wide variety of available options to me, I like to play support/cleric. I find satisfaction in being able to reliably back up my allies.

However, if the game is very damage-oriented, I'll just go for straight damage builds/weapons/whatever works. I'm not the best optimizer when it comes to speccing for damage most of the time, which is why I prefer support roles.

Hmm, I'll have to go with "depends on the game" with that one.

In PSU I played technomancer for that reason, it was fun being able to play the front lines while stunning the opponent and healing allies.

I would be tempted to say it's because I've been away for a while, but that would make a good chunk (or few) in the community look bad, and I don't want to start fights!

Seriously though, some games just don't need nude mods...

... because everything's there by default!

Ok, I'm just thinking about Daggerfall here, really.

That or Transformer games. I mean, they are technically both nude AND clothed but... is this deep philosophical conversation still PG-13? I don't want to end up with a warning here.

I like to take my time to explore and do it my way without skipping out unless i want too.
I mostly play Single player games or solo friendly ones for that reason.
I like a good story that draws you in, if combat is lacking in variety i tend to ditch it after beating it and hop onto to the next ride.

Gameplay>Story.

I love replaying games if the replay value is there.

I like good (and old) Hack and Slash, Turn-based RPGs and FPS games.

Class wise, my first pick is usually the melee guy..since i like it close and personal in hack and slash games.

For Turn-based rpgs i go with the first time through a balanced one (ex Warrior, hybrid/specialist, White Mage/healer).

In FPS, my first pick is usually Assault Rifles/SMG or Shotguns.
Twin SMGs would be my favorite combination.
I wanna feel the power, i don´t get that from regular handguns or tmps (usually).
The new DOOM makes me feel like a beast and i like that.

Oh yeah, I'm also stupid and pick the most challenging option available whenever I'm given the option. Hard Mode Azure Striker Gunvolt, a game that has a boss that's literally bullet hell on a mode that kills you in two hits? HELL YEAH

I also do SHTAs for my TACOs. Shoot me.

i only played Blade and Soul mostly since its release day. And i'm still having a blast despite a lot of
complaints toward that game and its P2W / P2P (pay to progress) method.

first thing i like to do when i logged in is to check on clan mates if at least 3 of them are on. I'll try gathering
them up to do a 4 man dungeons and daily challenges. After that, we just farm Necropolis 4 man or Sundered Nexus 4 man
over and over to get merchant spawned (event currently). we working on trying to get our +5 AP citrine gem from that
merchant or if we lucky to get a Premium Silverfrost Transformation Stone (which going for 650+gold on market..holy cow. And
you need 3 of them to upgrade your weapon to legendary, which can take the grinding to a whole new level of craziness.

mind me, i'm only at Awakened Scopio weapon and 578 AP, 118% accurary, 219% crit damage & 48% crit chance. I still need
to get weapon to True Scopio before i'm able to get to legendary, which i'm not planning to get anytime soon. the grind for it will
be mind blogging sh*tting your head type grinding that i'm not looking forward to. but good enough, 578 AP is more than enough
to do ALL current 4 man dungeons.

when not many mates are on, i try duoing the 4 man dungeons like Necropolis or Yeti for maximum profit with my little bro. his summoner
is pretty strong @ 630+ AP. the one thing i wanna avoid at all cause, is doing dungeons with PUG or random people. Dungeons like Sundered
Nexus & Sogun Lemant have a few mechanics which most people fail to do. It's bad enough they take 30+ min to complete only for us
to fail at the last boss; a huge waste of my time. :(

for the time being, i'm just mostly farming for stingers and moonstones to upgrade my gears. Sometime doing fractions dailies and ran into
trolls from the other fractions to make your life farming moonstones more annoying. with the currency exchange going down to hell, making
golds to exchange for coin to buy cosmetics in this game is too much investment. if you wanna buy outfit with real money, they're like $17.50.
if you like trading in-game gold currently, it's equivalent to 200+ gold per outfit. i'm only making about 15-30 golds a day if i did most of the
daily challenges and getting the materials to sell (rather save mats to upgrade). it can take awhile to save up enough to buy outfit. i'm fine without
the outfit from their store. i'll just stick with my Poharan outfit with her twin tail hair and eye patch for now. :P

play my destroyer since release day and now i'm finally able to get the animation cancelling down. i can now deal good damage! XD

TLDR: i just play with my mates online if they're on. farming materials to upgrade gears and more grindings cause that's how Korean MMOs are.
My character: Double Cannon (http://bnscoffee.com/character/NA/Double%20Cannon) - yep i took the name from our PSO game. :P

Destroyer for life! :D

I like to play melee classes the most. I like to get up in the face of the enemy and cut them to pieces. I prefer having a character with a huge 2-handed sword. I love if the game has a dodge and parry mechanics too. My main character is always a male that I like make as evil and sexy as possible. My first alt is always a female range type. Then I like to make every class possible with as many alts as I can lol.

What I'd like to do with a game? Hmmmmm....well, I love to be challenged and 'living the story'. A game's essence is challenge you to outsmart it and beat the game. And a good story can gloss over bad game-play. Other than that, I would always create a main female character and a main male characters. Why? Because I just want to see in full what the game has to offer for both male and female class. And strangely, I no longer pick melee as my first starter and opt for ranged or class that caught my interest.

Oh, and I always build a class without meta's advice on my first day at a new game. Knowing what builds are working from personal experience is half of the fun.

Basically, Zanverse boost everyone's damage in the area with Wind damage; and everyone's damage toward enemies while in Zanverse AoE contribute toward Zanverse's DPS. The higher your teammates DPS are while in Zanverse AoE, the higher Zanverse DPS would be. The simple chart of how Zanverse works would be.....

Everyone's normal DPS (with or without Shifta) --> someone cast Zanverse --> everyone got boost in damage --> everyone deal bigger damage --> everyone's DPS are listed under Zanverse name (when you check using certain program).

Which is why I never use Zanverse as a notion as of how good someone were, since Zanverse would always win the DPS meter (like, duh. Your DPS with Zanverse are just everyone's DPS combined). Unless the Zanverse-slave is just plain bad at positioning the Zanverse.

What Zanverse does is that it takes a percentage of the total damage of players who are inside the green zanverse ring and reapplies a percentage of the damage as wind damage. Zanverse can be boosted through Wind Tree and weapons that increase damage overall. When used by a Te/Ra, what happens is that the combination of Shifta Strike + Weak Bullet (if its 250%) allows zanverse to become strong enough to actually reapply the standard damage of a player (one who is unbuffed)...Say you get Zanverse up to 36.5% redirect...

We then would have 100 damage x 2.5 x 1.1 = 275. 275 * .365 = 100.375. In short....through zanverse the player just redirected the total amount of damage a player who did not hit a weak bullet point or had shifta up actually would have..

The downsize to Zanverse is that the tech does not overlap meaning only the first zanverse on-field will be the zanverse that will be in use.

I use this tech a lot and with many combinations out there. It can be Customize to have a faster charge time....

I like to Raid and Siege with other players in game.
A blend of PvE and PvP is what I tend to crave.

A reason I don't play PSO-2 is due to the lack of Guild/Team direction and a lack of Raids and Siege. However, I return to it from time to time due to its simplistic nature. While it has its set of problems unique to it, it also did not offer me what I liked the most in games... A balance between gaming and non-gaming elements.

During my time away, I found several games I love the raiding and siege aspect to it...
but got really turned off at how Discord Crapped out on us when 50 of us were raiding together.
It got so bad that every player donated five dollars to the guild and we bought a 100-Slot Teamspeak III server fully-paid for two years.

If i'm not running into dangerous zones beyond my level for flight paths, warps, better minor drops to sell- I'm usually climbing mountains. Tera is bad for mountain climbing and falling out of bounds lol. Other times I just run in circles.

Been stepping away from MMO's, nothing changed in 10 years.

In many cases I like to try making myself OP with the best gear or situational gear I can find early on, with darksouls as an example, I try finding ways to skip bosses and open up the areas early lol.

Lately for me....
I've been experimenting around in FF XIV.

I went from White Mage to simply tanking after I got tired of all the healer complaints floating around. Turns out the only real douchebag thing some healers do (mainly ASTs) is to refuse to heal Paladins not using Shield Oath. Managed to at least raise Ninja to 50 in the mix. Extremely fun class. I hate to say it, but approaching nearly 20 years in playing MMORPGs and only few games truly are MMOs.

Gaming for me these days is really where I can help out the most in terms of tanking or healing raid parties.
While of course crafting food buffs and potion buffs to keep players alive in the toughest raids out there.
Circumstance brought me back to FF XIV and I thought I would regret it, but its kind of been the opposite.

Even though I did pretty good in my last game, that experience taught me how antisocial and associative mmorpgs had become, and really taught me to stay away from any video game with any Pay To Win Component, regardless the size. I was in the strongest guild in the last game where upon charging back, the playerbase in that one guild claimed they had chargedback nearly $700,000, with the leader of the guild alone sinking $38,000 into his character in a six month period.

So I am back in P2P games feeling like a return to yesterday....
Spending half my gametime playing, and the other half listening to its music and learning it on my instruments.

Typically I stick to games with grading systems of some kind, like Devil May Cry 3 or Metal Gear Rising and work on improving how I deal with the combat, or whatever the primary mechanic usually is, see how different weapons/abilities work in certain scenarios, and just generally try to figure out how to play more efficiently and stylishly. If it's something like a platformer, I usually play for speed.

If it's Mirror's Edge, I'll just run around not doing anything in particular because I just like being in that game.
