Was there a new patch released from Tuesday?

I've been downloading since the server went down Tuesday. 6 gigs and counting, but I haven't seen anything posted on it.

Yes, but it only should be about 32mb, cancel your download, and use the old method when updating. The new one is kinda broken for some people and downloads the whole game instead of the patch only.
