Glider writes, "Lets say you are going to trade a s-beats for a inferno bazooka, but don't want to get ripped off. Instead of just dropping it in the city and hopping you don't get a Handgun +1, go to the forest or some other level. Then stand far apart, and ask them to equip the weapon you want. Once you see that it is the right weapon, tell them to keep it equiped and drop it. If they drop the right weapon, there should be a box on the ground, and no weapon in their hands. This way, you can be sure that the weapon they dropped is the real thing."

intereting.....only wish you can do that with non-weapon type items.....

But couldn't they get around that.
For example let's say they equip a double saber.
then they go to equipment screen and unequip it.
then they go to their item list and drop handgun +1 instead.
they only thing is that you will see what the name of the box is before u pick it up.
fact is there is no secure trading in PSO. it's all a risk. I wish that they had implemented the secure trading window used in Diablo II and Everquest.
Let's hope they do that for PSO2!

The thing is if they unequip the double saber, then go to their items and drop a Handgun +1 there will be a minute in between when the weapon leaves their hands and hits the floor unlike dropping it straight from their hand.

No . . They can simply sort the item list manually and put the Double Saber and Handgun next to each other. Quick hands can hit the "Remove" on the Double Saber then "Drop" on the Handgun+1 without you even telling the difference. Sorry, there is NO secure trading in PSO. Bottom line.

They could do that, but it wouldn't be an instant drop item then become un-equiped. You would see them un-equiped then an item go on the ground a few seconds later. You have to watch, and make sure they don't try to pull something. Still its a better then just hoping they don't drop some sorry item.

That's a great idea for some items with some characters. But what about weapons that the character cannot equip? Or for non-weapon items? I don't think there will be a secure way to trade that...

you can just ask for their guild card before trading.
