Pictures? Sigs?

OK, I know the PSO World people have been taking pics in PSO on Saturday night. That's cool and I hope I can join you guys someday. But I cant do it Saturday night since I work. Is there another day that you guys do this?

My second question is: lately, I've seen a few people with graphic signatures. And not just some pics thrown together in 5 minutes either. The sig looks really nice and has a professional look to it. So is there someone here that does this thing for people or is it that all these people are genius artists?

Just don't expect it immediately...

Incidently, it's not just Saturday night. Rei takes pic every now and then, and I've gotten the two in my sig below taken on weekday nights. just look for a team on Puck-09 called "take-a-pic" or something similar, and she may be in there. </td></tr></table>Yup ... a couple of us are actually graphic/web designers who have tasty tools to work with.

Personally I use Photoshop 6 and Illustrator 9. Haven't dabbled much in Flash yet however. (Really need to)

One thing that helps beyond anything is having a strong aesthetic eye and a solid foundation of design theory. (The understanding of color, placement, etc etc) Having a natural artistic talent helps a great deal as well (helps with designing with divergent artistic ideas)

To get the cleaner captures that most of us are using in our sigs requires a video capture device so that your DCs output feeds through into your PC to capture still/motion pictures.

Then obviously the final part of the equation is having some webspace to store your graphic and plugging in the img src into your sig.

</td></tr></table>Well in order to place an image to the right hand side you have to use HTML in the actual body of your message. The code I use looks like this:

I place this code before I write my actual message.

Now in regards to doing your sig for you, I'd be happy when I'm not busy doing something else, be it work related or updating the PSO2 Idea List (Which can be found here (http://www.nevikdreams.com/PSO2)) I just need to know where to find a good screenshot of your character.

Hay I am proud of my ghetto sig. Took me an hr to put this one together 8P.

FYI If you use a video capture setup you MUST use the S video cable if your card supports it.

The difference is amazing.

I use S video in mine and Rei does not because his card doesnt support it. Let me give you a side by side comparison.

I've seen a lot of really great sigs including some nice flash ones. ^_^ I was wondering if I could get any feedback on mine?
I want to have a position along the lines of graphic artist so I play around with a bunch of art programs to get better.

Both links to the same pic, I can't find a good host =( Tripod's servers go down a lot, and Geocities is slow and doesn't like external sites links to files other than HTML ones =(

Kind of a silly little note, but if you put your image tag in your signature, be sure to place a check mark on "Show signature" option that sits right above the submit button.

And as for the "how to create your graphic" is concerned, programs from Photopaint to Photoshop are what you'll need. You don't need an art degree to come up with something half decent, but you will need time to learn how to use the program! It's no an overnight project is what I'm getting at.
