Kalbelgarion writes, "According to a high-end field Xbox Microsoft rep at TeamXBOX (http://forums.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=2086444), the latest word from Microsoft is:
Xbox Accessory: Text Input Device
Text input device for Phantasy Star Online.
Overview (TID1)
Text Input Device 1 is only an adapter that allows the user to plug in a USB keyboard into your Xbox controller.
This ONLY works for PSO; not in the dashboard and not with any other games.
Will only be available for purchase online.
The current methodology for distributing the product is through www.xbox.com (http://www.xbox.com) only (The user will get there through a flyer enclosed in the PSO packaging, fill out form ONLINE and receive the unit through the mail/NO OTHER WAY)
The unit is FREE, except S&H of $6.95
This adapter will be available on-line only on 3/25, launch date of PSO.
Our on-line version of PSO SUPPORTS VOICE/research shows players in Japan LOVE voice communication in this game; it goes without saying that our North American IB already loves voice...
(there's a pic - silver with a blue plug that goes into the controller where the memory card goes... I can't see the side where the keyboard plugs in, and it looks like this TID1 might block the second hole for the memory card... not a biggie, but wanted to make that observation-SG2K)"

Please note that we are not verifying this information to be true. As of now, this is just what a rep said on another board. We tried contacting other XBox reps and they had no information on the device. This is not to say that this news is not true but we just can't verify it as of now.
Also, here is the Web Money package picture for PSO PC.

This is a load of crap.

"Just a reminder: to play PSO, you MUST have Xbox LIVE, even to play offline, as you will need to get a Hunter's Permit before you can play."

We're not going to need a HL to play offline. It makes the whole thing sound phony.

No, just the folks here did a lousy job posting this. The "Six Points" is the official statement from Microsoft. The part at the bottom is not. Microsoft did NOT issue that statement that you quoted. The staff member who posted this news just made it seem that way.

oi

did you even bother clicking on the link?

The six points he outlines is from the "infosheet"

The other parts is just him speaking...and obviously not informed.

the X-box pso is still junk, why has it taken so long anyway? heck there is no extra character like was said awhile ago, and the offline play requireing X-box live kinda removes the point of "offline" anwyways. They should have spent more time and made it better then the Gamecube version with actual offline play and the extra character

Yea what a load of crap... then you have to pay 7 bucks for a FREE USB adapter which should have been included in the deal. So you bascially are paying 50 bucks for the game and paying another 8 a month for PSO and whatever a month when they charge for XBL. I really don't plan on getting this game anymore... thanks Sonic Team, go bankrupt.

To anybody who complains about having to pay $7 for the adapter, go to lik-sang.com and buy a non-free adapter for $12.95 + shipping.

I personally haven't used voice chat in any games since the first day that I got XBL, so I'm glad that they are making an effort for getting a keyboard out, unlike Nintendo.
