According to the Japanese PSO BBS (http://pso.dricas.ne.jp/pso_dricas.html), Starting May 20, you will no longer need to pay to go online for EU/JP PSO Version 2. This means that you will no longer need to purchase a Hunters License for your Japanese or European version of PSO!
Please note that the US Servers are still down, this only applies to Japan and European PSODC Servers. You can read the rest at the Japanese PSO BBS (http://pso.dricas.ne.jp/pso_dricas.html). (Babelfish Link (http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?lp=ja_en&trurl=http%3a%2f%2fpso.dricas.ne.jp%2fnew.html))
Discuss this in our Forums! (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=111029&forum=1&8)

Does this mean that you can sign online for PSODC in the US but only play on the EU/JP servers?

Just a quick reminder, the EU ver2 never needed a HL to play online.

So if I get my hands on a universal player and purchased the EU version with broadband I could play with them on Dreamcast.
