On October 12th, the Japanese version of Phantasy Star Universe will be receiving a <a href="http://www.phantasystaruniverse.jp/news/wis/?mode=view&id=102#reg" >massive content upgrade</a>. The changes will include new missions, weapons, increased level caps, and expert classes. Here is a brief summary of the new changes. Be sure to scroll down for additional details.
Story Mission with Leia Martinez
Maximum Level Changed from 50 to 60
7 Expert Types Added
Photon Arts Level Caps Increased to 30
8 New Weapon Types Added
2 New SUV Weapons
New Armors, Weapons, and Clothing
Partner Machiner Reinitialization Kit

This is a single-player quest that will be exclusive to Network Mode. You will team up with Leiz Martinez and participate in a training mission on Neudaiz. During the mission, you will likely encounter some familiar faces. This is first in a series of Online-only quests that continue the story told in offline mode.

The granade launcher is just a launcher from PSO

Laser Cannons are closest to PSO's Photon Launchers. As for Grenade Launchers, apparently they don't fire at the target directly but launch them in a parabolic flight path (they arc in the air).
