Article: Official JP Site Open for Ambitions of Illuminus!

Sega has launched a new web site (http://illuminus.phantasystaruniverse.jp/) for Phantasy Star Universe: Ambitions of Illuminus, the recently revealed sequel to PSU. At the moment, the site contains some information about a network trial that is going to be held in Japan, although there is no information yet on how to sign up for it. In addition, there are eight screenshots of the game which showcase some of the new features and items that will come along with it. PSO-World has mirrored the new screenshots, so take a look!

holy smokes that a big lance! I'm guessing its spear class, mann 3 to 4 mob strikeing spear. that mantiss bring back memorys of pso. things look fun!

That might have something to do with how close the camera is to the ground. Its closer than you ever got to see in PSO. The textures on the character are waay sharper than the environment.

Well, that was the big tradeoff in PSU versus PSO. PSO has the better textures for environments, but PSU won out with the detail on characters.

At any rate, I really don't recognize the location that character is standing at. I mean, I know it looks like Forest 1 but, what room? I wonder if they expanded and redid Forest 1 for PSU.

Just translating the site and reading the network trial section. Trying to understand the broken English, I think it is saying that it is an open trial but there will be restrictions on how many people can connect so connection may not be possible. THIS IS NOT CONFIRMED!

It's unknown at the moment, but speculations say it should be. I think people will get the option to start new or port over old PSU characters.

Yeah, considering how its an expansion I would imagine bringing in an old character would actually be suggested for the higher level new areas.
