On April 30th at 24:00 PST, the Phantasy Star Online Episode 1&2 Xbox servers will be permanently shutdown (http://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/p/pso2/details.page/). For anyone who may have time remaining on their Hunters License, they will receive a pro-rated refund. Credit goes to Jonathan_F (user.php?op=userinfo&uname=Jonathan_F) for bringing us this news. aw man, control area is an awesome place to go. Great weapons in it too. I just hope they will put them in there. Last Survivor is my favorite weapon. :(

This has been probably the saddest year ever for us PSO fans. I mean, we lost DC and GC before, but this is both BB and Xbox within a month of each other. :(

this is sad. why close the servers so early? i mean really, they dont DESERVE to die... 8 years is not enough, and compared to PSO, PSU is crap. private servers exist, alas. we may be able to hold out.

I guess since SEGA was putting the old layouts into Phantasy Star Universe they felt it was obsolete to keep on running the old game. It would hve been nice if you had the option to run the old game on PSU though. Eh well.

I wouldn't even know if it's possible, but if I were Sega and/or Sonic Team, I'd put the online content on a hard disc and mass produce it so that the PSOX and PSOGC players can have the online content even after the servers shut down. It probably sounds like the A1 stupidest idea on Earth, but at the same time it'd be a nice gesture.

It's a shame that you don't have anything to show for all the great times spent playing with friends...
