Article: PSU Server Downtime Scheduled for Monday Night (March 9)

GM Edward just posted a notice (http://boards2.sega.com/psu_board/viewtopic.php?t=99988) that the PSU servers will be undergoing a period of maintenance tonight starting at approximately 11:00p.m. PDT. Though no further details are given on the English site, the official Japanese 360 site was updated with a similar notice (http://xbox360.phantasystaruniverse.jp/news/wis/?mode=view&id=269), citing a bug fix as the reason for the downtime. Update: As of 2:00a.m. PDT, all servers are back online. With this maintenance, the Winter Mission Carnival missions were completely removed from the game.

why does the official Japanese site always seem to have more info or the first to post the info about the english servers than the official english site?

the rollback is just a rumour, they don't need to do that to remove the Carnival run. They just need everyone offline to do that which i'm guessing this maintanence is about. Kind a blessing though, I was starting to get bored of the Carnival

Hmmm. I was wondering something maybe someone could answer for me since I know Sega won't give me an answer. When they botched up the level 80 cap a long time ago they didn't give us an emergency maintenance and made us wait 3 months before we moved up from 70 to 80. They've botched up the Pumpkin Trick yet again but aren't doing an emergency maintenance to fix that. So why do they do an emergency maintenance to remove the winter event, which hurts no one at all? Most of everyone is bored of it by now I know but its at least some extra content besides what we've been playing.

because Sega thought by just locking the door to the carnival they could end the event at its scheduled time.... but, you know how ppl get, there are ways around locked doors >.>
but basically its because the event is supposed to be over & Sega didnt remove the carnival. either too lazy or too busy with everything going on.
But hey, thats good old Segac. Always shaking things up.
