On May 8th, the PC/Playstation 2 and Xbox 360 servers will receive the next Shred the Darkness event update. According to the Japanese webpage (http://xbox360.phantasystaruniverse.jp/news/wis/?mode=view&id=291), a purification mission (C - S2) and several new Dark Crystal Seeker exchange items will be added. Also, a new Guardians Boost Road will run from May 8 to May 21 for Roar of Flames, The Big Push, and the new Purification mission. The boost for this GBR will be an increased drop percentage.

Update: The official English site has been updated (http://www.phantasystaruniverse.com/community_quests.php?item=20090508a) with this information, revealing the official localized name of the new event mission. Formerly known as "The Fourth Seal", the new name is "The 4th System".

Still a bit of a noob, but what exactly is GBR and how does it work? I mean I understand the basics in that you run a mission that is associated to GBR and you get an item/xp boost for it. But I read somewhere that it what a bit more complex than that...or am I reading too much into this?

Thats Basicaly what it is. They have a set amount of missions in the GBR and the goal to increase your own item drop percent is to gain points by running the missions. The LOWEST points you have determins the item drop percent so its best to try to keep the points even if possible. Dont think it has anything to do with xp boosting tho just items.
