I now have a new-found respect for Emilia, and voice acting in general. And yes, it is quite the shame that the western release didn't have dialogue outside of cutscenes. Perhaps when Infinity rolls around the corner for overseas Sega would consider that.
Anyway, great job on the podcast, gentlemen and lady. Humoruos and informative. Keep it up!

lol! Yeeaaahh... I can get like that when I'm nervous. Not that Dragwind or HUnewearl_Meira made me nervous... Just the whole feeling put on the spot thing and the recording while flying off the seat of my pants thing. It's weird to say, but while I'm used to being recorded... I always have a script in front of me so I can't really do wrong, ya know? Plus, it wasn't like it was a conversation... it was an interview... so... yeah.. it was just different. haha!

It's my first podcast to hear from this site and I happen to get to know a little bit about Emilia's VA...how lovely! =D
I loved every bit of it, especially knowing some of the ins and outs of the VA industry.

My favorite episode so far, and such a welcome surprise. I LOVED the long interview, actually. I'm in design myself right now, a lot unsure but working on marketing myself for that sort of thing, so hearing so much about it was very inspirational. That, and Working Designs reminds me of the best parts of my early teen years with especially Lunar 2.
I have to say though, I really do hope SoA and SoJ decide to put voice acting on top of ALL the Infinity dialogue. It really does make the difference! :)

Well. There's some truth to that. In this case, people actually loved Emilia's Western dubbing a lot better than the original Japanese version. Stephanie should be proud about that accomplishment. Very few voice actors dubbing the English version of Japanese titles get such comparative praise thrown at them. Kind of like how the US voice actors and writers, for El Hazard, not only nailed the parts; but they managed to surpass the originals. In this case, a pretty swell compromise between addressing a Japanese-centric title while providing something that sounds more appealing to Western ears. To a degree, that's harder to pull off than normal. Particularly because how the world of PSU/PSP is more anime-shifted. Sound too Western, and then you don't exactly fit the theme Sega created here. As you go back in time, to PSO, and especially to the original series; you have something which is more and more Western and less anime.
Anyway, I remember that I would like the voice from the very moment they released the english trailer with her in it.

Well, I don't have the chance to play the game at the moment, but, as a fan of the Phantasy Star series, I appreciated a lot this interview. It was also very interesting to know more about the voice acting business... I myself didn't know much about it, so it made for some good learning.


Lastly, I feel I should personally thank Ms. Komure for joining this community and accepting to take part in this interview; in my opinion it would be so awesome if voice actors and actresses from the gaming industry would follow her example and join the respective communities, sharing their experiences and such.
