This reminds me of that time I saw a couple of geeks(I've got nothing against "nerdy" people, but these people were just so... GEEKY!) talking in 1337 and other internet slang stuff IN REAL LIFE, down at one of the 3 Starbucks at the local plaza...

One sounded them out as if they were words(Ex: ROFLMAO was pronounced "Rofflemao", OMFG was pronounced "Ohmfeg", etc.) the other just sounded every letter/number out.
It looked like something out of sketch comedy show, they even asked a girl "A/S/L" (Unfortunately that was said by the guy who sounded the letters out, I would have liked to hear the other guy say "Asel" or something like that to her...). It was hard to believe, and went on for about half an hour. Then the guys left. I was tempted to follow, but they might've called the cops or something...

Funny though...
