Except this isn't Omega but no one can blame you for mixing these up considering both EP5 and Idola rely on the same generic medieval fantasy setting.

I know this keeps getting parroted all the time but this game looks so generic.
Even based on the games own merits this doesn't look like a Phantasy Star game at all. Is this really whats Sega's Idea of a 30 years anniversary project?
we could have had PSO3 for the 30th anniversary

Has Sega announced any plans to make it a worldwide game, or if it is going to be exclusive for Japan?
Despite being a generic mobile JRPG, I'd like to give it a try, but I would not like to get as much invested as in PSO2es, since at least that one has rewards for my main character in PSO2.

Sega did announce that playing IDOLA will give you stuff for the main game, just not now I guess. There is a campaign tho that gives you some items in december if you pre-registered and started playing the game with your SEGA ID.

I've been checking Ryu Ga Gotoku Online for a week and the game, other than setting, feels more like a phantasy star game. What combat perspective (https://i.imgur.com/hImCtrJ.jpg) can really do lol makes me wonder if they even tried to make a phantasy star game, or just some generic ripoff and then splattered the franchise's name in it.

i wasted 30' for the game and a few words i can give: it isn't worth it.
my 30' summary:
- the game itself is blanker than it looks, the mech is simpler than es. animation looks better on small screen than it's on yt but the art is is still the same, barely top.
- features are not that much (way worser than i expected tbh), they may have less menu than pso2 visiphone. :-?
- oh playing for story? find something else more refined dude :-?
my 30' conclusion: pso2es could've come as 1 of the worst decision for whole pso2 ontime but at least it's still playable for somebody. just look at that limit break stat + sacrifice to upgrade rarity + 2% 5 star. extra grand for some max stats here i come *puke*
i'll try to get some chars max leveled and feedback again, hope i can last that long :no:

played for a bit and I have found 200 star gems from playing idola so far..

btw these 200 star gems were updated in the main PSO2 game

oh? well thats already a more useful reward than ES ever had to offerMaybe they are a one-time reward or something. If Idola turns out to be a Star Gem farm game, then it becomes somewhat mandatory for main game too.

Though I'd say that PSO2es is more useful. I've earned exp in the order of 100 million from it alone, lots of excubes from 10*-11* weapons, a lot of meseta, a lot of FUN points, significant progress on SU Pet experience, Dark Blast experience...

Not sure what he is talking about; I haven't gotten any SG from Idola. There are no title rewards in PSO2 in regards to Idola, and the Idola Points Shop isn't around yet either.

Well, 200 Star Gems from pre-registering is different than 200 Star Gems from playing.
