Just got my email from SEGA ID support and was told i could not be assisted because im not a japanese speaking customer which i figured would be the case, im not locked out my account i just dont have anyway to fully log in, so unless there is another app i can set up besides google authenticator then i am finished and all my hard work down the drain.

there was a reason people in the past warned others to write down anything related to OTP so this kind of stuff didn't happen, you also should have tried to find someone who can speak JP pretty well enough to translate the help message to them or at worse winged a Google Translate e-mail

If you haven't been in like over a year, jumping into the game again now wouldnt be nearly as bad, you got 2 summer LQs for gearing up Atra EX and Lightstream weapons dropping like crazy and 2nd best units easily obtainable with badge conversions. The only thing you lose are Phasion and any extra Characters you had beyond the 3 default ones which while the grind sucks, you can be 90/90 in less than a week depending how much time you're putting in.

why would you be going through the same issue? you would literally make a new account and start from scratch and given that you havent played in 2yrs your gear now is already obsolete with the current power creep so you'd be working toward the current top gear

and fyi Sega dropped OTP a while ago (unless im wrong my friend had the same issue as you but he has access to his account to play still). OTP isnt even required either and while yes that extra storage space is nice, everyone has access to:

200 Default
300 Character storage
100 Es Storage
500 SG Storage (cost 100 SG per month to upkeep, easy to manage)

Sega dropped Secure OTP support and replaced it with Google Authenticator. Which you can download apps like Authy or Lastpass Authenticator, both of which support google's authentication system and provide online backups.

Sega isn't pushing this on people anymore because of the shop password, but you can disable this if you have the 2FA option enabled on your account, plus you get monthly benefits (like free 100% Tri's and 250% RDR's) other than the extra storage.

Well for starters i emailed them telling them the situation, they responded saying they dont help anyone who speaks english, so i then started emailing them in japanese, they responded and began to help me, they sent me a template requesting all the info used to register the account i gave them all the info, they responded back 2 hours ago saying they cleared the OTP and i was free to re register, so my advice to anyone with this issue, be patient and never give up, japanese is your friend, and to be safe i saved the barcode as advised and secret key, used Authy to scan bacode, account has been backed up, made password for backup :-)

But it makes sense; officially they aren't supposed to help people who violate the ToS, but rather than banning the account they basically just ignore any support ticket that isn't in Japanese, that way they just kind of wash their hands of it.

I had OTP back in the day before getting premium, it had it's uses, but was a PITA.

Nowadays, why bother, we have character storage, I mean you can just create 2 extra characters and use them as pack mules, not to mention PSOes storage. Speaking of which, if you log onto PSOes once a day for a month and you'll get 30 SG. Cash in 1000 coins at the casino for 10 SG every week for a month, that's 40 SG. Those 2 thing combined gives you 70 SG per month, find another 30 SG somewhere else per month and you got yourself 30 days of extra storage with that alone.

there are so MANY ways to play a character but no just idiots like to copy copy and copy another's playstyle. ( pathetic excuse: there are only so few PA's , face it people know nothing but copy -_- )

do people really need to spam skills to like victory shout and the like just to maintain 1st place in duel matches ( free field or LQ's )

(1. V.shout and the like makes the mobs go after said target, hence maintaining first place )
(2. if it were not forthe mob's HP being so high, I would have ran the LQ myself saving myself from playing with so many idiots )

Although Victory shout gives the user aggro, if you're dealing more damage than the other person you will get aggro right back. I don't know why you see why people competing for aggro/doing the most damage is a bad thing. I enjoy when everyone goes all out on a boss to rank or deal the most damage, this means my MPA runs will go by faster which also means more loot will be obtained in a shorter period of time. It's not like ranking first or dealing the most damage to a boss means you get higher tier drops.

(also this thread was more about OTP locking an account and not letting the person log into the account, I guess the thread name goes well with quitting PSO2 though so I guess it's on-topic)
