It's not an acronym. MAG doesn't actually stand for anything. It's just a name of sorts. In Japanese, the romaji translation is actually MAGU. If it had been an acronym they wouldn't have used katakana for it.

However, if you'd like to think there's an acronym hidden in there my best guess is that MAG would mean Morphing Android Guardian. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Now, now, Fluffy, I didn't mean it that way, don't Pilla m- OUCH! Man, that hurt. X_x *casts Resta* Bad Fluffy. No Trimates for you tonight. (Yes, I call my MAG Fluffy. It seemed completely inappropriate at the time. And it still does, so I'm happy. :-P)
