question about console mags

hey there

here's the task:
i got a kit of mark3 and a kit of megadrive (genesis) and the task to make a genesis mag for the person who gave that to me.

thing is, i find very little information about making one.

the mark 3 kit has to be used while the mag is still a mag? it doesn't work later? (i planned to use the mark 3 kit when the mag has 3 photonblasts at least).

i've seen console mags with and without photonblasts so it might work also later on i guess, right?

leads to a question: does the mag gets set back to lvl 005 when you use the kit? (like it was in v2-days) or does it 'just' change form?

so...
could i make a mag with the desired stats and photonblasts first and once its hitting lvl 200 i just use the mark 3 kit and the genesis kit on it? will it be a lvl200 genesis mag with the 3 photonblasts it had before in the end?

hm... i just don't want to try that out and waste around a week of mag care if stats fall back.

if i remember from version 2, mark III was not a cel, but started as a level 0 mag, without defense, from central dome fire swirl (http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=856) quest. but since a mark III cannot evolve without a mag cel, it could not attain photon blasts. from over here,

i remember a rumor once, that it could get photon blasts if you gave to a version 1 player to raise in a certain way. it did work for version 1, but version 2 could not see or use them.

You use the mark III cell on a baby mag. You can't use it on any other mags, so you can't raise a mag with PBs then reset it and make the mark III. The reason being is that the system mags never have PBs. This is the trade off you make for having a mag with 195 in one stat. So, the only way to make the megadrive mag is to use the kit of mark III on a baby mag, then raise the mark III to level 70 and use the kit of megadrive on it. Then it will turn into the megadrive and you can continue to raise what ever stat you choose. As far as I knew you could never get PBs with them, legitimately at least. I've made a mark III but never got another cell to use on it to make it go farther. Have you tried to take one of you mags and use the cell on it offline? i had time to try it, after i made this tread...
tried it on a kalki (10), on several lvl 200 mags and the only thing that worked was a baby mag.

so photonblasts on console mags are hacks.

last question would be... exactly lvl 70 ? or above? well... i'll have to try that when it hits the 70 (or actually... i dont want to try that and waste a mark3 kit...)

Can be any lvl after the require lvl is met. I tried on lvl 100 Mark III and it work just fine.
