I could never find a site with it, but my fave. game music would be the "Young Nobleman of Sadness" (Clock Tower Theme) from Castlevania: Nocturne in the Moonlight by Michiru Yamane. Really that whole soundtrack is just amazing. Also the battle music from Phantasy Star II would rank as my fave battle music and "A Death Place" from PS2 for it's boss music. I like a lot of the old school game music, but I really hate the midi files or remix's of it. I like it with the straight 8 or 16 bit grit it was intended to have http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Rez, Frequency and Jet Set Radio/Future all have incredible soundtracks. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_hamster.gif Sorry I can't link to any though, I'd be breaking a few laws I think. :/

Yeah, SoM's soundtrack pwnz, I bought it because it's easier than trying to make mp3s from the game. ._.;

I'd upload the files somewhere if it weren't for:

1. The illegal problem
2. The lack of anywhere to put it

Aphrodite Oceanus is the best. Actually, everything at OCR is the best.

I would have to say that the Donkey Kong games for SNES are the best.

NEW JUNK CITY THEME FROM EWJ! (http://ourworld.cs.com/weezelx/ewj/music/music.html) A.K.A. Gotta Find a Way

City Escape Theme- SA2/SA2:B
Biolizard Theme- SA2/SA2:B
WindWaker's overworld remix (I actually like it!)
And of course, the Overmind remix from Starcraft...

"How ya like my groove, Daggoth?"
"Well done."

I agree. I really like the spooky Balinese gamelan-sounding music in the ruins, too. So cool.

The rest of the music is really remeniscent of Yes, for some reason. Beh, I bet no one will know what I'm talking about. ._.

The temple type music is awesome so scary and so is the boss music where you fight the wall I think. Maybe it's one of the last bosses I forget, it's similar to the regular temple music but fast and more battle http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif I gotta go find my SoM soundtrack, I got the st when I imported SoM3 from japan.

I think Alielle is refering to the band Yes, the prog rock group. You have heard them, they did "Owner of a Lonely Heart". Don't judge there music by that one mainstream single, the rest of there stuff is off the wall concept albums. Think along the lines of Dream Theater and Pink Floyd only not as heavy as Dream Theater and more keyboard solos then Pink Floyd(god they are hard to discribe).

I do know what you are talking about Alielle, Yes is rediculous.

Oh, shows what I know. Pinkfloyd with keyboards? That actualy sounds really good. And if it sounds like Secret of Mana, then thats another plus.

I fell in love with the music from Napple Tale (http://napple.dricas.ne.jp/) immediately after hearing it. The soundtrack (http://www.otaku.com/cgi-bin/itemview.asp?itemid=60227q&referer=RPGFan) was composed by the popular Yoko Kanno, with vocal numbers being performed by Maaya Sakamoto (http://www.jvcmusic.co.jp/maaya/index.html).

I can only describe the music as being refreshing. The music of Napple Tale (http://napple.dricas.ne.jp/) is very soft and bouncy, despite being created for an action-RPG. The quality is amazing, and the variety ensures there is something for everyone. Mp3 files are relatively easy to find, so sampling shouldn't be a difficult task.

From SOM? *thinks*

The walls are pretty early in the game. There's the giant sorceror guy near the end, his music's sort of like the temple music... let's see if I can find a MIDI or something... *digs*

I think it earns the title (for me) after 3 versions, and over 100,000+ hours of play.

Battle Music (All of it)
Frog's Theme

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. I like that crazy band, in spite of all their peculiarities.

Seriously, compare "Endless Dream" from Talk to the ending music for SoM (part a, "Silent Spring" in particular... god, they are ridiculous)... the similarities, at times, are astounding. I think the game predates that track, actually, but the general style of Yes' music of the time seems to be in the same vein. >.>
