Rare mag question

Konichiwa,
Quick question. Everyone online seems to have rare mags. Besides for fashion statements, do they actually do anything that a non-rare mag can't do? Because if they do not then I do not see the point really.... I've looked at the guides on this site already and perhaps I'm blind but I can't find anything.

Well, they seem to be a LOT easier to feed. Once I got my Sato, it went up in levels very quickly and it was a lot easier to not have any side effects creep in (i.e. raising dex or def when you just want some mind).

Also, it seems to really enjoy making me invincible.

I agree on the cuteness, but does your invinci last longer than on a normal mag?

I can only speak from my Dreamcast experience, but my Soniti kept me invincible for longer than any other MAG I've seen. I finished De Rol Le and Vol Opt often while still being invincible. My Sato is spotty on making me invincible, but I think I just need to get it's Synchro up, and it doesn't last nearly as long as I remember from the Soniti I used to have. Though that could just be changes that were made from v2 to Episode 1 & 2.

While they're techincally Rare Mags, there are some regular mags that are even more rare in that they're almost never seen. I just saw a MAG for the first time in years thats been in the game forever, just it evolved from a weird stat'd mag for the person's class.

Rare mags are usually just normal mags with really good abilities and stats... my sato gives me invincibility when: my health is at 10%, my bar fills up, or at a boss fight. most rare mags do this too.
