What does Hit mean on a Weapon?

When you check the Photon Ratio on every weapon it will usually say:

Native
A. Beast
Machine
Dark

but what does "Hit" do? I really really want to know. My friend says it makes you attack faster?

Hit just increases the ATA given by the weapon..

All hit does is boosts that weapons ATA. so 25% HIT would increase th weapons ATA by 25 points.

%= Amount of points added to weapon's ATA
