ok i am getting pissed! What the hell is the star system?!?

If you mean the number of stars that each item (except usable ones like Scape Dolls or Dimates) has, then that shows how rare the item is. Lots of people think it's how good or powerful the item is, but it's actually supposed to refer to rarity.

Edit: Of course, it's kind of an oxymoron since all the ones with 12 stars have been mass duped, making them no more rare than meseta

The number of stars on an item gives you a relative sense of how hard it will be to find one from an enemy drop or a box.

Well not ALL of them are duped. I've been playing offline the entire time and I have a pair of Lavis blades. Granted it took me over 200 hours to finally make it.. It's still legit. :}
