XBox: Playing with folks in another region

Hi, I've got a buddy in Japan who just picked up PSO (japanese version) and we are trying to get together online.

Does anyone know how to connect with players from othter regions? Our ship lists are totally different and I've heard that the Xbox limits you to playing within your region, just wondering if anyone has found a way around it.

To my knowledge there is now way around it. Since the servers are closed it would seem impossible to get around it.

I think they will not have other countries play together like its one on the cube i suppose due to language barriers yea the xbox version sucks ah well
