Not lag. Slowdown. Two different things. But yes, offline multi-player can be plagued with slowdown if there's four players and a lot of activity going on. If you want an ultimate chug-fest, go into a room full of enemies with four forces and have them all repeatedly cast Gifoie. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

A USB memory card can hook up to a PC through a USB port.

Actually, the term that I like to use is framerate. The graphics and such tax the GameCube so much...and some un-optimized code in PSO as well...that it causes the game to run slow as it displays those cool graphics.

USB memory card allows transfer of information to your computer through the USB port. It is really quite cool as you can backup all your game save information. However, you will not be able to backup your character data since the server time-stamps your data. Any attempt to revert back to a previous save causes the character item data to be reset back to the defaults.

If you are interested in a USB memory card you can get one from here.

I believe the reason why the game slows down is soley because PSO is a ported game from the DC, therefore the code is nowhere near efficient for the gamecube. I think if Sonicteam rebuilt the game efficiently, you wouldn't have that problem offline anymore.

I even get slowdown when I'm playing with people in a busy room of Seabed ONline -- DC used to slow down in parts like that, do you really think the GC has no more processing power than the DC? What may be the case is that Sonicteam may have built a type of DC emulator for GC, designed and built into PSO, which would soak a lot more processing than just running the game itself. That's only a guess, though.

Heh look at a game like star fox adventures with amazing graphics with wide open spaces without any pop up or slowdown and then say GC is at fault for pso's slowdowns, it's simply the fact that while they are able to make good games, Sonic Team don't make the most efficient of game engines.
