Slicers?

Ok,I'm still a newbie poster,but I've got a couple questions here.

First,Am I the only person around using Slicers?I Love Slicers myself,and I have some friends who like them too,but I never see anyone else actually -using- them. I destroy stuff in the forest with my new Diska of Braveman(Thanks Lyle!)almost nothing lives past a single throw,so I know it can do good damage,even with someone using a Lavis Cannon I got equal or more kills in,yet everywhere I go I never see anyone else using Slicers.So am I just the only Slicer user around?Or are there more out there that I just have never met?

Second,Is there any unique Slicer-type? I know there are Slicer of Assassin, Braveman, and Liberator,but those still all look like normal slicers.Every weapon type seems to have a unique except Slicer...

Saber has Double Saber
Dagger has S Beats and P Arms
Sword has Chain Sawd
Partisan has Soul Eater/Banish
Handgun has Suppressed Gun, Egg Blaster, and Heaven's Punisher
Machine Guns....actually,this doesn't seem to have a Unique either...
Rifle has C Bringers and Holy Ray
Shotgun has Spread Needle, Flame Visit, and Inferno Bazooka
Slicer has......Nothing

So Slicer and Machine Guns are the only weapons without a unique cousin weapon? Please say so if you've ever seen one,I would love to run around with a unique Slicer-type, but I have never heard of such a thing

[BTW I know that Heaven's Punisher, Holy Ray, Flame Visit, and Inferno Bazooka may seem odd in those catagories, but that's how they are held, and while they have odd things about them(Heaven's can hit multi, Holy can be equipped by more then just Rangers, Visit and Bazooka only hit 1 thing)they ARE just special versions of those weapon types with special properties]

I've never used slicers much maybe i should try them more

The only people I've seen use slicers with any degree of success are forces. They just don't do enough damage for me, I sat around fooling with slicer of the assassin for hours, maybe if i had tons of luck it'd be cool, but as it is it takes 5 minutes to actually get a death touch on anything for me, and it does like 1/3 the damage of 'normal' weapons like gladius's and such.

Hi Star, it's Lyle. Anyways, the mechgun type has the "lk4 combat" or something. It's a ranger only mechgun (but grinded out it has less atp than a gatling grinded out and only one more atp than a grinded out repeater). I still think that puts a charge repeater or charge gatling much higher. >=D

The slicers' do have one. A girl on this board that is anti-duping found a purple one I believe. Here name is "Xria", and she will never trade it away. You can check the general or trade forum, and try the posts from one or two weeks ago. It's somewhere there. Or just send her a private message.

Not too sure, but there is this rumor going around about this RED SLICER by the name of VOLCANIC RING?!? Its supposed to look like some kind of ring for throwing...

yay, i like slicers too! That is, for the first 2 steps of the combo... doing the 3rd fruity lookin step always gets me hit http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif an underused great "support" weapon, (kinda hard to take on enemies by yourself with one)... and despite what people say, it DOES end up doing more damage total than any other normal weapon type when it hits a room full of enemies for about 200 per monster. Long live my Tempest Diska +50% to dark!

I only use my Diska of Braveman against the Dragon. It has a 40% bonus to Native, and with it and Shifta, I can do about 190 - 200 dmg per hit. And the Diska targets about 3-4 areas of the dragon, meaning it can do easily about 800 dmg per slice.

Yea, with a Slicer with a bouns to a boss that can be targeted in many areas,(coughderollecough) it's nice. But usually you can get better stuff.

-Hunters get Paristans
-Rangers get shots

I think that's how it goes. Anyway, there cool, but there's better stuff out there.

Mindbladehttp://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_eek.gifk,I'm a hunter,so not much experiance with shots or razonde,But Partisans are my second fave weapon,and on De Rol it's better yeah,but only because the damage areas are so close together,can get 4 and sometimes 5 900+ hits with a good partisan in the right spot against De Rol,while slicers lock onto a maximum of 4 targets and attack a bit slower.But I think a good %A beast Braveman could keep up quite well on that boss,I just don't have one yet hehe.But on the Dragon...not a chance of partisan keeping up,I used to use my Soul Eater on it with special attack,when it's walking around I got 300-400ish attacks on legs and 900s on the head when it toppled....It can't compair,my Braveman does at least 3 hits each throw all around 400 to 500 no matter if it's walking or toppled,so in 1 good combo that's 1500 X 3 for 4500dmg,while a good Soul Eater combo on the head only did 2700.Against Vol Opt it's even worse,the first form on the screens it hits 1100ish,1 throw if it hits tears the whole wall of screens to shreads,and on the second form of Vol Opt it hits 4 times each throw,1000 each hit,while my old good %machine Brionac hit it 800 twice IF I was in a good spot.

Against dragon and the computer boss,my best partisans can't even close to keep up.

As for normal enemies....heh,in the forest,normal attacks are around 200-300 each,heavy is 500-600 each,and special is 800-1400 each....I use special and they don't even get close to me,6 goombas die in 2 throws,not even a full combo,I think my slicer damage works out well^_^

Wow. I mean I thought I could hit hard with my Chainsawd (about 350 hard, 570 w/ Shifta), but 900!!! Not like I'm a low level char either, I'm lvl 91 with ATP and ATA maxed.

I LOVE my slicer !!! I have some bigger swords that it for more, but I like the bit of extra space that I have using my slicer. Plus, that reflecting blade looks so cool !!!

Slicers are some of the funnest weapons. I use my Disk of Liberator in Mines. It's really cool when you have it bounce off ten guys.

I think one of the reasons not many people sue it is because of it's weak ATP. A lot of people dismiss items just because it's not strong enouth. If a machine gun can do 700 atp and hits 3 times per attack, thats more then any sword can do for a attack. Another reason is because of rare items. With all these rare items (that arn't very rare anymore) why use something as common as a Slicer?

lavis cannon is a slicer I think (it shoots little bouncy things from its blade)

Lavis Cannon is different,the wave attack on it goes straight forward,cutting through multiple guys,not veering to any other angle,while slicers bounce off different enemies in a wide range left and right,and even up,Lavis fires faster though,it's good,but doesn't have the range slicers have to kill large crowds.

My Racaseal has a Blizzard diska +5 with 35% bonus against machines 0_o but -15% against dark. >_< It is still really "cool" to use though. I dunno why but the special attack works quite often for her for some reason. So I try to bring it along when I am playing Hard mode or maybe when in the forest, caves, or mines. But being a RAcaseal, the crush bullet is still a better multi-enemy hit weapon, especially since it has HP-leeching special attack, very important for androids. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif A Gush diska would be very useful though. My other prized "normal rare" is my Arrest Arms +8. Not as swift or accurate as the spread needle, it's still fun to use and I can say "Your under Arrest!" ;D

When I get bored sometimes I'll use my Diska's, though I haven't lately.

As for that "VOLCANIC RING" Anyone ever notice the red ring Dark Falz drops on normal(Not sure if he drops it on hard/v-hard, since I haven't beatin it in those difficulties yet). Course you can't grab it, and I always figured it had something to do with Red Ring Rico, but who knows, maybe it's a peak at a new rare or something.
