Not 15 minutes ago I was PK'ed...

Here's what happened:
I'm looking for a game on v-hard, and find one on Umbriel block 1 go in, and SSTrunks(lvl 100 force), good guy(lvl 67 Ramar) and Byron(lvl 63 Humar) are talking, about something that'd kill good guy and Byron. I assumed they where talking about a boss or somthing, and went towards the check area, SSTrunks opened a TP and I went through, all of a sudden SStrunks goes into a casting pose, and boom, All three of us keel over dead, he does it a couple times as we revive with scape dolls and such, and then finally revives us. Noone took anything, from anyone, but they did kinda tease about it. I assume SSTrunks was just showing the others and such, not doing it to steal cash or weapons, only thing I lost from it was 2 scape dolls...

Now, I don't know how he did it, nor do I really want to, but could you imagine that power in the hands of some, rather unscroupulous individual. Theives and cheaters are bad enough, now are we going to have to worry about PK's?

I figured I best post what happened, just to warn ya all...

Hmm. Well, I know of one trick. Not sure how it works, but I was playing in my usual game last night (Puck 9, PSO World-SHEO) and a friend, Ukyou, who happens to be a high level NEwearal was joking around that she would, quote, "Hit you when you least suspect it" Now, the other two were laughing because she had apparently used it on them before, I just shot a puzzled look at my screen and carried on.

Well, we were halfway through caves1, and all of a sudden, a Grants spell is shot at me. WHACK, my character does the "I'm hit" animation, as if, say, Dark Falz had cast Grants on me, yet, I had no damage taken away from my health bar.

Ukyou then laughed, and teased me that she tried to PK me http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

She did it to the other two people in our game as well, but no one suffered damage.

How you guys died, I have no idea. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_frown.gif

It seemed like he use Megid or Grantis, in the attack, not sure which though. Maybe he was using a gameshark or something, although aren't the servers supposed to detect GS now?

Oh well, it's not like I use any of my rare weapons, so I wound't really loose anything special, I do like my Havoc Calibur +5 quite a bit though. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif

I like to hear pso players say that http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

Nothing endears me to someone more then when they brag about normally mundane items. Ion, I'm sure your Calibur is a thousand times stronger then any Lavis Cannon.

Anyhoo, I wouldn't worry too much about being PK'ed. Most of the "Cheaters" have the best weapons in the game already, and I doubt any would stoop so low as to waste their precious, "Hacking" time to kill gamers like us for our "old and useless" semi-rares.

You are more then welcome to join me in Puck 9. Look for a point beaked, really fat, white, level 100 RAcast with my name. I'd be more then happy to do a Falz Run with an Alaskanian.

I actually envy you for living in Alaska. I HATE the heat. It gets pretty bad here where I live, because of the smog and pollution. I live close to philly, about midway between Philly and the Jersey shore, so I'm too far away from the beach to just run there and cool off, and im close enough to philly to enjoy their wonderful hole they've created in the ozone layer above us. hehehe

I like my double saber, not because it's "rare" (well... for me at least, I was really happy to finally find one) but just because I've wanted one ever since I say Ash in 'from the depths'. Besides that, I suppose my Varista got a lot of use. The un-rare rare, just 'cause I happen to find one with good elemental affinities. I found me a photon claw, which I thought looked cool on Sue (though hers is red, she got Nei's claw?) but since I found it 10 minutes after the double saber, it was sorta overshadowed.
I've mostly played offline, read lots of horror stories here.. not to mention the fact that my level 54 character data got corrupted the first time I ever went online. I've read about people here, guess just been kinda shy to look around online.

Shy? Thats never been my problem? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

Want a good online game? Look me up. I'm sure my mindless babbling by now has ingrained upon everyone's soul where they can find Mr. Pepsi Can himself. Just pop by Puck 9, around , lets say, 4pm Eastern time tommorow and look for my name. I have a few items you might like, all totally pure and found by me. I can introduce you to nearly 20 other people just like me, some from this board, some from my own past games, and a couple I know from real life.

Even the longest journey begins with one step, Shir. Theres no reason you should prevent yourself from coming online. I'll get ya started http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif

Good for you Ion Rush.

I'm yet to find anything that suits me better (or has particularly better stats) than my Shadow Laser +25. And it's only a 5 or 6 star item.

As we all know, in the grand scheme of things, rares aren't always great weapons, they're just rare.

I'll see if I can drop bye, though I don't need presents. I suppose I feel more... I dunno the term, fulfilled? Using things I find on my own. It's the main reason I haven't traded, though I collect things I think my friends might like. I pondered a few times asking for a double saber... but I suppose it couldn't compare to how I felt when I picked it up in the very hard mines. "killed a room. equip, a DB saber, equip a DB sabe, equip, a DB... wait... am I seeing right.." anyways, I'll stop babbling.

I'll stop by aswell, perhaps I can finally play a game or two without wondering if the next person that joins its a thief (seen it happen quite a few times).

hehehe Well, Alaska's nice, but I currently have two problems with it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif One, it's harder then hell to find a DC keyboard down here. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif
If I lived in Anchorage I could probably find one. I'm almost to the point where I'll just order one over the net and pay that dang shipping charges. which brings me to the second thing, shipping a keyboard up here is gonna cost me almost as much as the keyboard itself. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif

Other then that it's pretty nice here, not to cold at the moment, real slushy though (I hate it when the snow melts). http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif

Most my rares aren't reeally all that rare. Rarest thing I have is a Holy Ray +30 a friend gave me. I have yet to find a double saber myself, although I have 2 of them. I'd actually planned on using them at a higher level(75+) when the chances that I would die where a little slimmer. But I've kinda come to like the mundain items a bit more. heck for awhile I was using Bind Mechguns +25 till I was finally able to fight mele without geting knocked down every five seconds. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif I just use what works best for me, and keep my rares more for bragging rights. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

Well, as I said, I'll try to drop in on ya sometime. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

I started off and said "Who needs a keyboard". Now because I couldn't find one, but I figured it was 30 bucks I didn't need to spend (wonder what happened to the registration card I sent when I bought my Dreamcast that said I get a free keyboard)
After trying to type on the 'online keyboard' I gave in. I would have to stop all my friends for a few minuted when I wanted to say something. I ended up making a shortcut that basically said 'no keyboard, except quiet'

Trust me, if the PK hack gets out (and it may have already, I know a lot of hackers have been working on it diligently for the last few weeks), these people won't be killing you for your items. They'll just be killing you for the sheer vicarious thrill of it.

PSO PLAYER HIT
The us version of thise trick is alot like the jap one, only i think you can only do magic in the us one.

On the first 3 spaces in customize put in this order Reverser, Resta, and that other recovery spell. On the other spaces (the ones you press R to get to) put in this order Heavy Attack, <spell>, Blank.

Now in a game with people around you (no boxes or monsters) just press R and A about the same time, R is a little before the A and quickly release R. If you did it right you should cast the spell on your team mate

I have only used this with the weakest and middle lightning attack and Megid. it might work with the others and attack but the timing is different(post here if you figure it out).

Check out this video from PSO World to see it in action, http://www.project-douraku.com/psoshots/us-pk.mpg

its pretty confusing but once you get it down its easy.

It's just so much fun to hit ya Sheo ^_^

Seriously though, I didn't think US players could actually die from because Sonic Team had put in checking to see if attack came from other players. Which makes sense why spells just raise PB. Same when a JP player hits a US player with a weapon...

Anyways, as for the spell hitting ya Sheo, it's the same trick as the US PK movie Reye sent in. Appearently buried deep in the source code the loop that checks the current target is slower then then the one checking for if you pushed a button (that's how if should be, anyways, they just don't have error correction), so in result you can quickly use one spells target with a different spell...can't say I blame them though. If I was a beta tester, I never would've thought of that =P

Surprising people is fun, but killing them isn't ^_^

Well that's true.. I believe it was about a year after Ultima Online came out when the rampant PK'ing took over OSI's servers, after everyone had explored just about everything, killed just about everything, gotten what few rare weapons and such there was at the time.
If this hack gets out, once people are bored with the normal stuff, they may go off on a killing spree. And without the ability to fight back, It could be quite a messy situation...
