Hullo! just wanted ta first say excellent site, haven't seen anything quite as comprehensive in a while http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif (brown nosing done, can get on w/ post) but like the post says, is it really worth shelling out money for the broadband adapter, keyboard converter, hunter license, just to play one game? it seems to me that a lot of people are extreeeeeeemely disgruntled with this game online. no help from the company, no real updates, lotsa hackers/cheater/idiots, corrupt data, etc etc. don't get me wrong, i think this game is great! started off w/ the DC ep 1, was online only once, and i just remember seeing a force happily skipping through the caves completely obliterating everything in sight with rafoie... so online play was way cool that time, but sounds like sega's just gone downhill with this game now... anywhos, i'm done ramblin, so if anyone's willing to share their opinion, i'd greatly appreciate it http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif thankies!

Sure, its worth it... I see myself in you... In V.1 i did almost the exact same thing as u did... I were online very scaresly... I find Offline to be very attractive when looking for specific items, and i still play offline sometimes. But after experienced the online sensation, i cant go back to play offline as much as i did before... Its the community that pulls me http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif... I have found some really good people to hang out with... But as u put it, there are of course downsides... Fsod and so on and so forth... I myself has experienced a card corruption... Its really unpleasant. What you need to do is learn the unwritten rules... Examples for these are:

*Try to avoid entering a game as forth player! (i myself never enter a game as forth) I dont know if this is an actuall fact about how Fsod-x occur, but i trust the spoken word of it, what else can we do?

*Stash your items that are not equipped when you leave a game.

*Dont enter a game with unequipped items

*Dont swap ship/block/lobby with unequipped items

And thats about it i think...

Good luck and happy huntin!

lol well i spent $40 on my BBA $40 on gettin a new copy of PSO cause my dumbass brother took the serial number and access key out and lost it, and more money for my hunters liscense and im probably gonna have to get some sorta of adapter so i can hook it up to my computer so thats a bunch of my hard earned money so it better be good and fun like back in the DC days http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I did shell out the money for a broadband adaptor and played for the free month and then a month more. However, my main problem was that at the end of the day, it's just not a deep enough game to be worth £6 a month. I'm now playing another MMORPG on the pc, also worth £6 a month, and I have several friends playing + no heard of corruptions + loads more players and depth to the game.
Don't get me wrong, I love PSO, but I'd have to say it's the monthly fee that breaks it.

My advice stay clear of Vega, lol. That seems to the usual den for the obnoxious players. Also home to most dupers, scammers etc. I like Denebs personally http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif And the EU ship has some descent lobbies. I have some really good friends on Spica. Also, you can't go wrong on the JP ships. They seem to be more team oriented.

I have also been trying to find out if it was really worth it to take pso online. Ive been playing offline. Is it really only 6(six) dollars a month? If so, Ill go for it. Also, is the first month really free?

The whole purpose of the game was to interact with other players. Just think about it, would you pay all the money for only the offline game? By offline standers, you'd be better buying a new game.

The overall cost of playing pso online can get somewhat costly, and many of the people you meet can get annoying. But when you join a game with 3 other good, friendly people, *sigh* theres nothing quite like it.

Yeah online offers some of the best times on the game. I've been lucky and meet good ppl when I first got on so I know online isn't half full of asses. Nah, they only make up about 1-2% of the pop.http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I've been offline... I went online... and now i'm offline. I've currently been offline for 2-3 days and I definitely think PSOnline is worth it. Drop rates are much higher, you get more experience, you get to meet some really great people, and on top of that you get little bonuses. IE. new quests, and the gba mini games.

Plus if you don't like it then you can always try and get a refund for your BBA. A keyboard isn't really necessary, I think of it more as a luxury. I'm a fast Soft Keyboard users lol. Not as fast as I wanna be but I get my ideas and points across.

Go for it dude!
