it wont let me online

hey i got my broadband yesterday and since then ive been trying to get online but everytime it says "(No.018) connection attempt failed. if you have a broadband adapter, make sure that your network cable is connected to the broadband adapter and that the broadband adapter settings are setup properly." well ive checked my connection and all that us fine so i guess its my settings. i have no idea how i need my settings to be. i dont even know if i got the ISP correct. pleeeeeaaaase someone help me

Form you above message, it apears that somethings not right with your set-up.

you need to give more details on your set up if you want to get help.
are you using a router, internet conection sharing, a hub or other device?
have you got an ethernet modem or a usb modem on your p.c?
you need to describe yor set-up for your P.C internet conection, and how you are trying to conect the gamecube BBA crossover cable or patch cable?

the exact same thing is happening to me. Nintendo said i had a faulty BBA. so now i either have to return it or exchange it.

btw i checked with my isp and all my settings are filled in as much as possible
