Making a Dark Flow

ok, I have a parasitic gene "flow" and i was wondering how to make a dark weapon. i heard that you take basic non-rare sword and grind it to its max and then use the gene on it. is that about right? I was also wondering what the parasitic D cell does. thanks.

Why would you want to make or use a dark flow??? it has only ONE swing and it's not all that strong..!
