Because:

1. The normal quests aren't programmed to take multiple-users.
2. The game simply wasn't programmed with multiple-user quests in the first places.

Might be because users could go on mass Endless Nightmare 4 quests for EXP and rares. Dunno. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I think it has to do with slowdown.

It's because in Multiplayer you couldn't see any speech bubbles because the screen would be way to small. Or so I think. THere is no talking at all (no speech between players, no interaction between NPCs, no quests. only shops, bank, teleporter 2 princapal and teleporter 2 surface.

Just try to get Online, you can do quests on there with friends, people you know, or complete strangers! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Conceiveably, if you were playing multiplayer (i.e. on the same machine) you COULD just um... talk... to the people next to you...

Maybe I'm just crazy?

No no no, they weren't talking about the players' text bubbles, but the NPCs'. How are you going to receive your directions when Hopkins is putting out words that're a quarter of their usual size? O_o

Well if you can't talk to the NPCs then you can't get instructions at all.
