Is it possible to set up a LAN and play PSO as if you were online with another gamecube with a BBA over ethernet?

Gamecube and XBOX PSO do not support system to system play.

can you hook up your GC to a PC and use proxy support?

By LAN play, do you mean just have two (or more) cubes hooked up to a router and have ONLY you two (or more) playing together? I'm sure there's gotta be a way to setup a fake PSO server, but that'd be bordering on illegal, if it isn't already. But I think it's possible, especially since you can easily (well, almost easy..) spoof PSO into thinking your comp is a SEGA server, although it'll give a message saying that the server is under maintenence or something and it can't connect. Ya gotta set up a DNS and what not, i've got that far, but you need a program to run as the server and let PSO connect to it, the only program I've seen that comes remotely close to this is PSOLoad or PSUL (http://www.gcdev.com) that'll load homemade programs onto the cube via PSO and the BBA. No, that is not copying games or anything, it is not intended for that, the only purpose of it is to allow programmers an oppourtunity to program on the Gamecube. But I'd be interested in getting PSO to work within a LAN, it's gotta be possible somehow.

do you know what proxy is?
its where you hook up one computer to another and have the second computer connect to the internet and send info back to the first comp
is there a way to do that with your GC?

I know what a proxy is, and yes you can do that. If you have the broadband adapter you gotta configure it on the proxy page to connect to your computer. If you have a router, you don't need the proxy, but I think it'll still work, havn't tried. But if you don't have a router, the computer has to have the two netcards i believe, one that is connected to the cube, and the other that is connected to the internet. Then ya gotta run some sorta internet sharing thing, I think Windows XP has one built in. Once you get it all setup, it should work just fine. But like I said, I havn't tried this before, so I'm not exactly 100% on this...

It's the method I use, and it works fine. The proxy I use is WinRoute Lite, as I have Windows 95.

Copy/paste from other thread... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Quoting myself:
It's possible to do it with a Modem Adapter, but it really is a pain. Basically, you connect your Modem Adapter to a dial-up modem that's connected to your PC, and you let the GameCube dial to your PC. I tried this same method to get my Dreamcast use the PC's connection, but it wouldn't work as the modem expects the phone line voltage to be on the wire. You could solution that with a phone line simulator, but it isn't really worth it.
(End quote)

As for getting a proxy, I recommend WinRoute Lite. You can find it on P2P networks.
