That seems to find varistas and db sabres everywhere? I've lost count on how many i've found. Are these really rare as the game claims?

they are what are know as "common rares"

this just means that they are not really rares at all, heck, i've found more varistas than any other item in the game.

hehe..unfortunately, DB's, Varistas, Visks, Crush Bullets, Flowens, and Broinacs are all VERY VERY common in Mines/Ruins on V. Hard.

They are only called "Rare" because, well, you won't find them until you reach the last two stages of the game. By then, they are as common as common can be.

A lot of people joke about this, and with due cause. I mean, why are 99% of the weapon drops in the last two areas of Very Hard, the supremely most difficult level of the game, all DBs or Varistas? I mean, 9 out of every 10 are one of those two, and the 10th is either a Brionac or a Flowens. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

For reference, it took about 100 hours of V. Hard to find my Inferno Bazooka. Something just isn't right about that. I mean, I played Diablo 2 for a month, and actually found a stone of Jordan, two magefists guantlets, and enough ornate plates to equip an army.

It gets to the point where I pick up an item, equip it, see that its a DB (Or whatever) and ditch it. Not even worth the time to ID and sell it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_frown.gif

hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!! Oh brother! You're very funny, I like you. So you must have reciently just got your first character up into the V-hard area of game. It's not just you sweetie. In a very short time you'll have seen more DB Sabers and Varistas than you ever did any other item in the game times ten. I remember getting exicited every time I found a special item. I would go to the tekker in anticipation. Actually i find them in Ruins/Hard. Haven't been able to kill Dark Falz yet. He was much harder to solo as a force on hard than on normal. On normal he was a cake, on hard even his damn spikes at the start nearly kills me in one hit.

meleth, a MAG that gives invincibility during boss fights is your best friend against 1st form dark falz. Then just sit back and introduce those spikes to grants. I've got soniti, and that little bunny has kept my ass off the ground so many times....

You don't have to go to the tekkers all the time... Just equip it and see what it is... And see how much Atp the weapon gives you... You should be able to figure out what weapon it is already...

Unfourtunally i have to go back and sell off stuff in my inv so often that my PB never gets full even with 120% synchro. That is also something i find really annoying. Guess i'll have to wait until i hit lev50 before i go up against him again.. were only 46 the last time i tried.

You don't need to fill up your PB guage. MAGs will often automatically perform an action when you enter a boss battle. Most will perform Shifta/Deband, but there are a few that give you invincibility. Soma is a good one for the invincibility.

As for the common rares (don't you just love oxymorons), I tend to find the CLUB OF LACONIUM more than anything else. Maybe that's just my dumb luck - or the fact that my most used character is a Yellowboze. *shrugs*

When I play solo I am a loot whore. I will pick up everything thats not a monofluid/mate ect. Keeps the cash coming in when you are raising mulitple mags http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_cool.gif.

Also DB sabres can be good weaps. Special weapons are special because they are the only ones that can have a percentage to a perticular mob. That is why they are marked special. I have a DB's Sabre with 40/35/35/20 to its pluses. So its killer for games where you dont trust/know the people you are playing with.
