It depends on my mood. Sometimes I listen to the in-game music, but about 75% of the time I listen to something else. During late night I usually have the TV on (news, Leno, Conan, Carson Daly, Leno repeat, Conan repeat). When the TV is off I'll listen to a CD from my decently sized, eclectic collection. If I'm too lazy to put in a CD I'll listen to Mp3s. If I'm too lazy to deal with Mp3s I'll just turn on the radio. Right now I'm in the radio phase. Fleetwood Mac's Hold Me just came to an end and now a Bob Dyllan song is starting up (dunno the title).

Sometimes it's other stuff, but right now it's the J-rock, especially since that's all I have on this computer, my usual one's on the fritz. >P I only listen to the in-game music if it's Ruins, Temple, Falz or Olga. Here's a hint: if you have a capture card, wire your gamecube into it and play the game on your pc. that way you can easily click into winamp or something without intterrupting your game to get another cd or something. plus that way you can balance the sound levels better.

I tend to listen to Science Fiction sort of stuff like any of my three Babylon 5 CDs, or any of my four-pack Command & Conquer Soundtrack collection. Those are great for the mood of the Phantasy Star Online world. Some others I listen to less frequently (because they're less convenient to program-play) are game disks that play the music. Demo disks of Assault Rigs and Wip3out are really energetic. Mechwarrior 2 also has good music, though my CD is so dirty (need to clean it one of these days...) it starts skipping on the twentieth-odd track.
