Roleplaying Androids?

I'm glad to say that this is a trend thats slowly catching on. Not only is it ammusing and clever but it also adds a little variety to the game. Some of My personal favorite shortcuts on my RAcast are. "CPU Deactivated, Reboot Requested" and "Level Upgrade Confirmed".

Does anyone else do something like this with their android(s)?

Well I guess something as simple as a beep would be considering role playing... that or filtering yourself out.

Sometimes I'll say something really cheezy like "ERROR>TERMINATE" and beat the crap out of something. I actually yell it, too.

I don't have an android, but I love seeing others RP them. I play two hunewearls, and I RP them as cat-people. They mew and hiss at monsters and stuff. I'd definitly do robotic stuff with my 'droid if I got a new memory card for one, being as mine is full right now.

Yeah I use to say something like "Initiating Battle Mode" or something when entering a boss. It sorta doesnt make sense though because what mode was I in before the boss? Cheezy, but fun.

you could put somthing like "change battle mode? Battle modes:monster,boss" or somthing like that.....

i roleplay my hunny, as a astral deva (the ones that play d&d may know whats a astral deva). Its funny, i dunno why

Back when I was playing DC PSO, my RAcaseal spoke with an accent ("speech.module.not.quite.tuned.correctly") and always apologized for the robot behaviour in the mines. ("Honestly.not.all.androids.are.so.murderous!")

She'd occasionally apologize to the robots too, before blowing them up with a large gun.

Aside from the funny voice, it was really all about trying to see things from an android point of view, rather than trying to sound machine-like. Don't know if it worked, but I had fun! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

those r both good id do somthing like that but i usaly play pso by myself so there really isnt a point in doning it. :

Yeah my friend who only plays offline has alot of bender shortcuts too. Too bad he wont be able to use them online anytime soon.

I also RP a little bit, but am usually really subtle with it so no one can really tell right at first, but then later, as we go along, you can always tell there's something just a little bit off/not quite right.
After all, using Elenor as an example of a pretty high-quality android, she's really human sounding, not all robotic or anything like TYPE: W and TYPE: O are. I would imagine that most of the android population is pretty advanced

And also one time this one guy was always spelling everything in l337 so I got mad and yelled "Chloroflourocarbons" at him in l337, which took a bit of effort, but was well worth it.

OMG I was just about to say that, although not so harshly, LOL. I think you should play in a way thats fun for you and if spouting off stupid android phrases is fun for you then more power to you, but I gotta say, its REALLY, REALLY, REALLY annoying to listen to. After the Nth time of hearing "ENEMY TERMINATED" I feel like saying, "yeah moron,I heard you the first 40 times. Enemy terminted yada, yada, yada." Anyway, like I said, to each his own, if you enjoy it, thats great, I just happen to find it highly annoying. No flame intended, just giving MHO.
