I must not have been sacrificing the correct amount of chickens yesterday, because apparently my gaming karma's taken a turn for the worse.

Lenneth (my RAcaseal) was lost the other day to file corruption. -cannot save- yadda yadda, much sadness. I'd like to think she ran out of souls to redeem and moved on to a different planet. -sigh-

Shortly afterwards, while I was playing Anwynn (my FOnewearl), I had the wonderful pleasure of finally meeting Mr. BSOD. He was cordial enough, as at least he left the music on... but who really likes the town music anyways? And more importantly, who likes 30+ minutes of town music while you're waiting for the disconnect screen? Unfortunately, Mrs. Disconnect Screen stood me up, as apparently she's got better things to do than save my character. Serves me right for inviting any of that bunch for dinner. =P

So, to anyone that's played with me often... I'll be back. Soon. I'm stubborn, I'm bored, and I was a little bit tired of characters that didn't understand the concept of Hit Points anyways. Most likely I'll be starting a RAmar named Engelwurm, as I'll definitely miss Lenneth more than my Force... -sigh- silly forces.

One thing I am curious about: should I change my screenname here to reflect Lenneth's departure? What do you guys think?

Pax, ....err...Lenneth?

Did you know that, during a BSOD, all you have to do is pull out your modem cord from the DC to get the disconnect screen.?

I'm not going to take credit for this, but I was the first person I know of to figure this out. (The Teacher in my Networking/PC Support class would often bra to the other classes that he had the best student in his class....hehe)

See, But heres the thing: I never did it specifically for the BSOD. I started doing it whenever I felt my connection had stalled. It wasn't until I got my first BSOD that I pulled my modem cord and discovered that it worked.

I have had 3 BSOD's with Sheo, and each time they were a result of doing a Photon Blast when the connection was sluggish. Each time, I pulled the cord, and each time, I lost nothing.

However, Data Corruption, thats a bird of a different Color. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_frown.gif I've just been crossing my fingers/ after all, my Sega-Cd memory Carts still work, so I guess I'm lucky in that respect. (Prays)

As for the name, I say keep it. I like the name Lenneth. I believe I have seen Lenneth in passing on Puck, matter of fact, I'm sure of it.

I still think server-side saving would have been better http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_frown.gif

Noo... I'm so sorry to hear that. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_frown.gif

And people on the board have come to know you as Lenneth! I think it would be nice to keep the name. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif Hey, you might even resurrect her one day!

Nods, I was actually in the game when you made 100, I believe. =) I remember commenting that you were using the same gun as me (Crush Bullet).

I actually pulled out the phone cord. I'm not even sure it was your garden variety BSOD, either; it just froze as I ported back from Falz's stage. The screen wasn't blacked out or blued out either; just really dark as if it was caught just as I would've ported into town. Not to spread panic or anything, but the people there were also trying to pull off the PK trick. Bleh.

The upside is that I didn't lose everything on Anwynn... just all the stuff not equipped, which was unfortunately quite a bit.

Update: it looks like I'll be playing a HUcast named Mr. Vandemar instead, along with a friend of mine who'll be playing Mr. Croup.
