My First Rant!

<font face=times new roman color=red>Ok, last night I was playing Hard and just running around gaining XP. Nothing unusual. I left the room unlocked because I like to meet new people. I met some really cool people too. Well, then one guy started to do that PK crap. It had me paranoid so I asked him to stop. He did with me but evidently he didnt with someone else in the room, who left after we all beat the dragon. Course then I left too because I didnt want to deal with him. As SOON as I arrive at Puck 9, someone is doing PK crap in the damn lobby! Now, if it was only bothering me, i wouldnt have been upset, but it was bothering a lot of people in the lobby as they were casting those ice spells that freeze everyone, VERY annoying. So I said something about it, and I'm sure Im going to be labeled a bitch now, but ya know, I dont care! They were claiming they were just having fun, let them have thier fun. I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with people having fun, unless it drags in people who dont wish to be involved like myself. lol, I'm pretty sure I am labeled a bitch now, but I dont care. if you want to be immature and show off that you can PK, fine by all means have fun, but DO NOT bring people into it who dont want to be. Make your own room or choose a lobby and go tehre and do it all you want, but other than that its just plain annoying. My rant is now done, sorry just had to get that off of my chest. <center>

I don't really care about it, since I've yet to see anyone actually die from the trick. The main problem right now is that it's causing BSOD/LSOD whenever someone teleports while someone else is doing the "PK"/spell trick. Time to start locking the games (or only playing with androids who can't zap ya.. haha).

I'm completely with you on that one. Saying it like it is doesn't make you a bitch (at least IMHO). Add to what you said that people using the PKs can also cause BSOD or FSOD on another player if they do it at certain times. I'd rather not lose some important items I'm carrying, thank you very much.

I think its just a stupid way of showing off...and people can use Gameshark to make PK actually kill. I was watching my brother play last night, and someone named Gidget was in the lobby, littering it with money, and doing the PK trick. Here's an excerpt from their conversation:

Jaiden "So now that you have a cheat device, what fun is it even playing?"

Gidget "Cause I get to piss people like you off."

This is grounds for immediate bannishment IMO. Flat-out admitting that you're only playing to disrupt others? There needs to be a way to report these offenders to Sega. This is getting SO out of hand.

Yeah I saw that Gidget character as well, waltzing around in the lobby talking about her "higher form of hacking" (which is what she called it) I have to say its annoying to see people casting spells in the lobby because when they start being able to that whats next? swinging swords, and soon there we may all have to run for our lives, fearing dreaded Gameshark "Lobby PK" fiends.

Honestly this may sound stupid, but the Idea of casting spells in the lobby sounded unpheseable as well.

I tried telling that dude that it can cause BSOD/FSOD even when NOT telepiping.. but he didn't beleive me.. then it happened to my friend last night... These guys are unbelievable.. I think I'm gonna find a nice deserted server and block to play in from now on...

Puck 9's turned into Gimp Central Station lately anyhow. Yes, there are a lot of responsible PSOW readers that play there, but I think we're starting to be outnumbered by the jerks that read PSOW, and see how much this sh!t pisses us off, and they go looking for trouble on Puck 9.

I'm moving to Umbriel 5. heh.

I thought Sega servers were supposed to detect gameshark use and not let you on or ban you or something. Is that stuff not in effect yet?

It's called an Exploder, and its much more advanced then a Gameshark. From what I understand, and my own experience, it seems like a Hex Editor of some sort that digs deep down into the raw game code and changes things.
