Does this make you a cheater?

Ok here the deal, a good friend of mine online traded for a 200 mind Sato and a Sigh of the God that isn't percented up or anything just a regular SoG. Now he goes into a game and they are at the mines and he takes the telepipe down and suddenly everyone in the game is calling him a stupid duper that is corrupting everyone in the world of PSO and that he some stupid HAPPY MAN (apologies about the language). Now I was just wondering does that make you a cheater if you trade for something like a DC/Saturn etc. Mag or does that just mean you seize an oppertunity to get stronger? I mean I didn't think any less of the person beacuse now they could hold their own with me in games...just wondering if it was wrong of him to trade for the items or if its considered alright? I dunno maybe I just need to find some padded walls....

Sure, the items are hacked and duped, but what can you do about it? It's there, it's an item, sure it's not worth much but it's still there.

Maybe this person has another person on the web...I should know I know of three other Xion's on PSO...I've been mistaken for another RAcast before they got a good look at me. I've even been accused of standing somebody up in a trade untill they said "Wait, are you a HUmar?" and I said "nope." so they felt bad.

sometimes you could be an uber-legit and still be considered a hacker and a cheater because of somebody else.

I don't know if you all are talking about GC because in the GC version all I have to ask for is Sato in the lobby. Three or four people usually answer and say "YEAH I GOT, 200 MIND? YUPP I GOT IT", it's not too too often I see a Sato other then that one!

it's impossible to get a 200 any stat mag in the GC ver. without cheating, because all mags start with 5 in Def. So if you want all legit stuff, stay away from them. I personally wouldn't do it, but it could be fun to see what those extra levels would do for you though. I don't know about the X-box, PC, or DC.

Also, is it considered cheating to use hand-me downs? I divided my chars into "generations" I have one 1st gen, three 2nd gens and just started two 3rd gens. What I do is hand down the old weapons/armor/units I don't/can't use from one gen to the next or to my friend's chars that need a better item that I'm not using.(like the Elf/Arm++ I gave to my gf's Ranger) All of the items are legit (I dun have the first clue how to dupe and don't care to know). I just figured that was part of the game(like trading non-hack pokemon), but from reading some posts it sounds like that is looked down upon too. I have always been a very honest person and like doing things honestly. (I never even used the game geanie for the NES my parents got me for my b-day when it came out) So now I feel kinda yucky, for lack of a better term right now, about the possiblity of my having cheated. I don't do it to make the next gen stronger, though it help, I do it to save money. Waste not want not ne? "Hey my lv91 doesn't use this anymore but my lv 54 can use it in a few lvs." That sort of thing. is that considered bad???

That is not cheating! Cheating is getting to LV 200 in an hour! But I have never done that I don't know what you are talking about!

People like to skew the definition of cheating. I'm sorry, but cheating means using illegal items. Dupes and hacks fall in that category and I really don't care if you created them or just traded for them. If you're using them then you're cheating.
In defence cheaters like to say, "If you're playing with a cheater then you are cheating too. They help you get exp." That is just stupid. I really hate people that say that.

A Sato must have stats in at least 2 places and must have at least 5 DEF. A 200 Mind Sato is impossible naturally. It's a hacked mag and using it means you're cheating.

While what you say is perfectly respectable it can't be correct.

ST implanted the trade function for a reason, you know that. ST the creators of this game obviously feel that trading must happen. There is no filter to stop "unfair" trades happening. Imagine a person comes online for the first time trades for a 20 native Lavis Cannon for his offline found Agito 1975. Is it cheating if that player goes on never to talk to the other player again. How is it that tradeing non-hacked weapons makes you a cheater? He didnt know it was dupe. What does he do now? Dispose of that filthy dupe and lose out?

Just play as a force chararcter and any map will be your 200 map. That's how I have a lvl 200 char in under a minute. *ph34r* m3 (character name)
