That's pretty messed up.

<sarcasm>i suppose the person that thought that excuse up for 'research' also looks at transvestite porn.</sarcasm>

sometimes scientists just don't know where to draw the line.

"This is gross manipulation of human life," said Nuala Scarisbrick of British anti-abortion charity Life.

I think so too. Imagine what would be born? It's not a lack of respect, it's just that I don't think it's the way of things, experiments like those.

I agree with scientifical breakthrough, but this is a bit too much, even if this was only for studying "treatments or cures for single gene disorders".

What's next? Mixing human and feline DNA to create "newmen"?

*thinks*

Hey, not bad.

She-males, aka transexuals have been around for quite awhile..O_o

I dont see the problem that many other people see with this. I think the more research the better. The more scientists know about Man the better.

-wants them to invent some way to be turned into a cute, little fuzzy dragon that spouts gibberish every now and then, yet is also able to cause mass destruction with energy blasts-

...from my perspective..it's almost a dream come true.

*bitch slaps self back to reality*

..if they have to use afew embryos to help many, many people in the long run, I'm not going to lose any sleep either way.

That's catpeople, silly! Newmen are an elven race, not felines.

And, uh...anti-abortionists are involved? Eh?

Nope, you're only thinking inside the PSO box. Newmen were not elven on the old PS games.

This all reminds me of a bizarre idea I had for a horror story (well it starts out cute and happy, but then sorta mutates into a horro/sci fi thing) that was somewhat inspired by the movie Prophecy(the one about them mutant bear things, not the one that had, I think, Christopher Walken and some other people) and a drawing by Waita Uziga (I know that sounds really gross, but it's true http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif). Where a scientist, fascinated by the idea of catgirls after watching some random anime, decides to see if he can create a half cat half girl with cat DNA, a female embryo, and that wonderful; magical fetal bonding agent: MERCURY!
Well, the guy ends up with a cat-girl for a daughter... and then something interesting happens. I'll let you ponder over what it is exactly happens (I might've said what, had I actually written this thing.)

I should really get to writing that thing! Reading this article gives me even more ideas!
Hehehehehehehe...
