Black Screen of Death

Is Black screen of death real or not? My bro says it is but i dont know if i should belive him. Please respond cause I like taking screen shots and I heard thats what can cause it.

Yes its real, but I take screenshots all the time and I've never had a problem so I doubt thats an issue.
