Having Sig problem

I am having trouble getting smileys in my sig.

I type in the thing it says too like <:cat:> (without < and > ) and it doesn't show up in my sig. so could someone help me out? I have seen the animals in sigs before, so i wanted them too.

God.. These People Post A Lot Of Fucking Shit.(The People With The Pictures).. Anyway.. Buddy.. Are You Sure Your Typing It Write.. And If So.. When You Typing The Sig..
