I found big rappys many times in the game. Are they considered rare by any chance?

ive never seen a big rappy.. ever. and in my whole pso time ive only seen 5 rare enemies. and just today was one of them, a nar lily in the temple

No, Big Rappies are APPARENTLY a reference to the king rappy in one of the oringinal PS games.

King Rappies are from Phantasy Star 4.

As others have mentioned, the giant Rappy seen in the Forest is apparently an homage to the "King Rappy" seen in Phantasy Star IV's Hunter's Guild quest, "Man with a Twist":

And, no, it's not really rare at all. It just appears once every 10-20 rappies...and it doesn't drop anything special or different, doesn't give any more EXP, nor is it any harder to defeat.

I've seen big rappy's before I thought I remembered them being called El Rappys, Hmmm I have no idea why.
