For all of us who even care about history, what is the best WW2 movie you've seen?

Band of Brothers, not a movie, but it should be listed. And if you are watching movies for histroy, gotta make sure what ones you watch. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Band of Brothers was a great mini series. I have the DVD set (very expensive but yet good)

Well it's deffinatly not Pearl Harbor that's for damn sure. I voted for Tora! Tora! Tora!. I liked how it showed the Japanese perspective of the war instead of the just the American side. One of my favorites though, was The Big Red One. It's not on your list but it really is a great movie.

Sorry, forgot The Big Red One. I didn't include Band of Brothers though because it was a mini-series. I'm talking movies only.

Meh.

Yes, The Big Red One is very good, as is The Thin Red Line, there are a bunch others.

But if we are talking movies only, I would say SPR.

Some of my favorite WW2 movies are:
Midway
Memphis Belle
A Bridge Too Far
Saving Private Ryan

I'm also a fan of Tora!Tora!Tora!, which will always be better than that piece of crap, Pearl Harbor. It's more historically acurate and doesn't have a serious love story. I voted for other since the majority of my favprites weren't on there.

Saving Private Ryan - the first scene for Omaha Beach is very historically accurate.

Enemy at the Gates is my pick.

The sniper fights were really cool to watch, not to mention Bob Hoskins makes a good Stalin.

And lets face it, best sex scene ever.

(that and considering I always found Snipers to be some of the more interesting type of soldier out there...but the sex scene gives it bonus points)

Ditto.

Otherwise I'd vote Saving Private Ryan.
