How do I turn my Branch into the Striker?

I found the Branch of Paku Paku and want to turn it into the Striker of Chao. Is the only want to do this to have the Chao mag?

I read there was a quest that turned the Branch into the Striker, but the thread (in which I read this) didn't say what quest.

Thanks, but I've already seen that.

That is why I asked "is the only way to make the Branch into the Striker by using the Chao mag?"

I want to know if that is the ONLY way, or if I can do it in a quest.
