I know their are alot of these but this is a little different. I want to go online but for me to do that I will need to by a split cable so I dont tie up my phone line and only my internet line. So I guess that will be about 50 dollars or alot more because of the modem and the split line. So should I stay offline or go online and just by all the crap. Is it trully worth 60-100 of my dollars for a few hours of gameplay?

I had to spend some extra money on connections too. It ended up very expensive, but now that I think of it, I have no regrets. If you were a DC player and liked the game a lot, you're in for lots of fun.
